You need 3 things to start, spark, fuel and compression.

Even though you will be losing some compression it should still start if your sure fuel is coming out of the injectors and a good spark is there.

Im guessing the spark plugs from the blown cylinders may be rusted up if water got to them and it sat for a long time.

Just because you have fuel in the rail doesnt mean the fuel pump is ok. It might not be able to pump the required pressure to get the car started. I went through the same problem a month or so ago.

Had fuel in the rail so replaced everything else first and it was the pump that was the problem. : /

Take the air filter out and squirt some carby cleaner down the intake pipe while someone cranks it for you. If it fires from that, fuel is whats missing.
