EASTERNATS 2010 ANNOUNCED - CAlder

hEY GUYS just saw this on the nine msn website

Repco EASTERNATS Saved - Calder Park is GO

Repco EASTERNATS founder/promoter Jon Davison announced today that a long term agreement has been negotiated with Bob Jane, to stage the event at Calder Park commencing Easter 2010. After successfully conducting Australia's biggest Auto Spectacular at Sandown Raceway since 1997 and in the process providing an important community road safety benefit, the Melbourne Racing Club [MRC] terminated the Licence Agreement in June. Negiotations with both the MRC and the City of Greater Dandenong proved fruitless, whilst the benefits of moving to Calder Park became increasingly obvious.

"I am absolutely rapt, the move to Calder Park opens up a huge range of opportunities not available at Sandown. The venue can accomodate an increased number of entries,on site camping, a dedicated drag strip that can used under lights at night, the Thunderdome and Calder race tracks and a far more flexible council permit compared to that which existed at Sandown. The Repco EASTERNATS is all about the entrant there friends and our patrons, they are the most important."

A detailed survey of the venue will be conducted in early November to determine the event schedule and other important organisational issues to ensure entrants and patrons have a ball.
See You at the Repco EASTERNATS at Calder Park Friday 2nd to Monday 5th April 2010.

The EASTERNATS 'Where the fans and the cars are the Stars'

Regards and thank you for all your support for further details contact Jon Davison 0418 386640.

hahah, i'm keen to see how it goes.
Calder has potential to make it VERY good, but being the first year there i'm sure there will be teething problems!

Hopefully John Davidson gets pretty strict in the amount of shitters that he lets in to many VN clappers and holden clappers in general back in 2008 and 2009. To many sick Holden blokes thinking they have put an exhaust on a 6 now it can run 10's. Needs to be quality like Gazza Nats and Summernats.

Yep, that would be great but like John said, it also needs to return money. And if it means the event only attracts say 20 elite cars, that means there will have to be 200 commodore clappers/standard LS1's to cover costs...

I think I'll wait and see for the first event. Definitely won't be going anywhere near it if its like the Sandown event with people getting defects with their cars on trailers.

I reckon the cops might be a little nicer, given that calder is already known for running street car related events on a regular basis, hopefully it works out :P

Sadly thats what it will probably be like but makes it all the more fun skating past em when they are flat to the floor.

The cops werent too bad at the last Nats IIRC, although not many people played up leaving either, which made it a nice change.

Bet Sandown is spewing, ah well :)

Hopefully theres a strong Boosted/ESOC presence :)

Great to see that the nats will continue but still its sucks that the crybabys that live near the sandown track finaly won. The track was there long before they built their houses next to it. makes me think, the houses are getting close to calder now. the nats at sandown was a great event Calder will be even better. the 3 hour drive to and fro suxs
