1992 EB 6 to V8

Postby EBCraig1992 » December 15th, 2009, 11:08 am

Hi Guys,
I have just picked up a tidy 1992 EB Fairmont. A real nice drive. Was wondering what do I need to do to drope a 289 or 302 into Her and which would be the better, as a general drive car.
I've been told either go strait in behind the existing trans, and no need to do front end, bar the brakes.
Nothing wrong with the 6, but thought in the next year, would like to turn Her into an 8.
Any advise would be Greatly received.
Cheers from Craig.

After recently doing this you need motor and trans, complete engine bay wiring and dash wiring aswell as instrument cluster, ecu, and you will need to change the K-frame as the V8 mounts are different on the actual K-frame/crossmember

brakes are identical 6cyl to v8 but you can change the booster factory V8 came with the XR double diaphram ones for a bit more oomph

good luck as it aint a small job
