So anyway I lost a bunch of points and got sent the letter saying that on 17th of Jan my licence will be suspended, OR I can logon to the RTA site and apply for the "good behavior" licence ...
anyway, applied for it early this week and it was approved instantly and it said my good behavior licence will start on the 17th of Jan and it has 2 points for 12 months ..... ok no problem ... so i thought ...
so today i get a 10 over ticket (3 points), its been 3 days since I got approved for the good behavior licence .... so my question is, will these 2 points come off my new good behavior licence when it dosent even start till the 17th? What do yas think?
Anyone been in this situation before? I wish you could just buy points, or get some sort of a tab account going on.
Thanx in advance

I'm surprised they gave you points, as far as I'm aware good behaviour licence means you have no points to play with, so if you get done for any offence that carries points its game over..... I'm 99% certain you're going to have no licence.

When you pay the fine the points are deducted from whatever points you had at the date and time of the offence. Which could mean that you just have less points and the good behaviour goes ahead as already decided, they extend the god behaviour period or the new fine makes you ineligible for the good behaviour period and you just have to do time on a suspension.
You better ring and ask I think.

RTA said Santa came early for me

So this is how it works, any fines (demerits) I get from now till the start of the good behavior period go on the "back burner" and dont get deducted untill my good behavior period is over. So I am able to spend up to 11 points between now and the 17th of Jan. As long as I dont spend more then 2 points during the "actual" good behavior time, I am in the clear. wow what a loophole eh. When teh good behavior is over and I get my full licence back, any demerits on back burner then come off new licence.
But who am I kidding, 12 months on 2 points? Thats like driving a turbo car and saying dont take it onto boost. Anyway it bought be a few more months im happy.
Drive safe guys!

your lucky you get 2 points
few years ago i had a one year "probation period" with only 1 point to spare.
then got caught doing an illegal u-turn with only 2 weeks left of my probation. I couldnt fucking beleive it, the officer thankfully let me off because of the predicement i was in.....

Happened to me back in 07. Opted for good behaviour and got fined just before the good behaviour period was supposed to start. It sucks having to wait till next year for the backburner points to get cleared though.
