Operating fog lights other than permitted = $117 Fine

Got pulled over by Knox TMU on Friday night and was issued with a fine for having my fog lights on, no warning just the fine straight away.

Has anyone else had this fine or known someone to get it?? I have read into it on the Vic Roads website and never knew it was a law until Friday night.

Discuss..

It's part of the Australian Road Rules.

You're only permitted to use fog lights in hazardous conditions like heavy rain, dust storms etc.

Pretty sure Sunny got dicked and created a similar thread a while ago...

May be different down there but my brother still got done for them driving on a single lane country road late at night out near where I live, I didn't actually believe him when he told me.

If I drive my mx5 around without my driving lights on I can't see jack when turning on the road close. So I either turn the driving lights off or smash through potholes? Until they fix the roads I think i'll leave them on, thanks VICTORIA!

We're talking BAs here mate. The owners manual recognises them as Fog Lamps.

Look a friend of mine got done in her 06 subaru with her fog lights on. She said i never knew there was a switch for them and i brought the car brand new and they have always been on. They didn't care and issued the fine so now she just leaves them off and in the owners manual they say they are driving lights? go figure

Well, I'm sick of kunts using their
driving/fog whatever u want to call them lights, especially when I am on the highway back to the coast. Your eyes are adjusted to the dark, then some kunt comes along with all their lights on and blinds you! Fine away
pigs!

It's a law that the police will only enforce from time to time. I mean I am yet to see a late model Commodore without them on. You see cop cars with them on also. Two laws one for us and one for them.
