Anyone been out on the Craigiburn Bypass doing 100kmh on there feels like your doing 40kmh past a school. Sam Newman is funny as people just take him way to seriously. Everything is to politicly correct these days thanks to Americans. On a sad note the government will never allow anything over a 110kmh speed limit on any roads. We will have to put up with revenue raising for the rest of our lifetimes!!

Let me put 2 and 2 together - Brumby wants to crush Newman's Lamborghini for doing 72 km/h in a 60 zone.

This is an interesting fact off Wikipedia.

"An absolute speed limit of 70 miles per hour (110 km/h) was introduced to Victoria in 1971. This was subsequently reduced to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in late 1973. South Australia introduced an absolute speed limit of 60 mph in 1974. New South Wales introduced an absolute speed limit of 100 km/h in 1979. The Northern Territory introduced an absolute speed limit of 110 km/h in 2007"

Now I’m no genius, but cars have changed a lot since the 1970's, (disc brakes and sh!t).

Also another fact before someone jumps on the death toll wagon.

In 1970 the road toll was 3798 (Aust) Population 12,660,160
In 2007 the road toll was 1616 (Aust) Population 21,180,632

Now keeping this in mind I would like to see one good farken reason not to raise the speed limit throughout Australia.

Also FARK normal kunts that have nothing better to do, but complain about the speed related deaths, you Mexican half cast, swamp donkey, vag face, bush pig whores!!!!!!

The opposition would have a field day if the government tried to up the speed limits. More realistically, I would like to see the 10% tolerance return to Victoria. The issue - as I understand it - is that car speedometers may have a 10% inaccuracy according to ADR. Not sure if this is still the case.

all i know is that the work hilux, 2009 model, as delivered last month reads 115km/h at 100.

my girlfriends corolla, 2008 model, reads 110km/h at 100

Do they even design this crap to ADR's anymore?

this is with factory sizes tires.
