How to tell FoMoCo you'll never buy a FWD V6 large Ford

Wanna gather ideas on what to put in it first. If you want to do it too but can't think of anything but "I'm not driving ya fucken moist-fart sounding V6 wet-shoebox handling raped-on-a-prison-boat riding front-wheeler buckets of shit", this may give you something they're more likely to read. Off the top of my head I'd include:

- Safer and easier to control a RWD vehicle - especially important as a family car

- The Aussie I6 is a proven tough engine, even with forced induction, with years of development behind it

- Most of Australia's roads are not in good condition, many still dirt, plus we have deserts and snow - where better to test?

- The Mustang was originally a 2-door Falcon - use Australia's brilliant cost effective design/engineering for the next chassis of both

- Of all the cars on sale in Australia, the Falcon has always been and still is still one of the highest selling - kiss that goodbye

- The Falcon has a large cult following in Australia - those people will buy something else or buy second hand

- Everyone I've heard/read from says they're disgusted in the ride and handling of new American cars when they drive them when visiting the USA

Add, elaborate, challenge, discuss etc.

i've already done my part, i made a dimensional time travel machine, travelled forward through time to a parallel dimension where this happened, and then didn't buy one.
pretty sure ford got the message.

You should've used that to show them in the 80s, that I6Ts will be in production, and to start then instead of waiting. Imagine the shit we'd have now.

I was wondering who caused that hole in the space time continuum, thanks to your dam time traveling.

The amount of people that whinge about us getting FWD Falcons compared to the amount trying to do something about it isn't surprising. It's the Australian way isn't it lol? Have a sook before, during and after, and do nothing about it? I'm aware that my message (or a heap from here) to Ford probably won't change anything, but you're not gonna stop me gambling by telling me I probably won't win...

It will be a shame but I don't care. There are many many better cars out there from other manufacturers.

Nissan did a similar thing with their models: RB straight six motors (ending with the R34 Skyline and the Laurel overseas) moving to V6 in the 350Z and 370Z, still rear wheel drive luckily but no factory turbo models. They screwed the pooch with the new GTR, the people that should be driving them can't afford them. V6 pffft what about a modern RB. C'mon Nissan make a new RB35 or RB40 and bang that in the new GTR, ditch the titanium exhaust and $1000 gearbox oil changes make it half the price of the current one and it would be sick. /RANT

Toyota did a similar thing also with their models: 1JZ, 2JZ straight six motors gone, now all V6 and four cylinder motors in local models and they also went to front wheel drive. The JZ motors only kicked on in the Lexus range locally like Nissan they dropped the factory turbos. But Toyota only do 4cyl and V6 Camrys and Aurions now.

Ford will just be another one to change, the majority of buyers are people that don't give a damn of it has V6 and front wheel drive so the pros of having a 'global' model will outweigh the cons of it being V6 front wheel drive.

Some good news to end with though... C35 Nissan Laurel's (RB25DET models only, the only ones you would want anyway) have just been approved for import compliance, do yourself a favour and get one of them instead of being upset about Ford making the new Falcon's front wheel drive and V6.

All valid points, and I know all that. It's more about keeping jobs here and keeping the industry alive because we're good at it - good at making a lot from a little. I'd like to see what our engineers could do if they had the budget and resources of a German manufacturer. Half of it is about not fixing something that works really well and isn't broken (RWD I6), and the other is keeping Aussies employed and keeping the money in this country. It'd be pretty farked to lose your job because some bigknob in an office decided some shit based on what their Yes Men were telling them.

I think if it wasn't for Ford of Europe, Ford would have a pretty shitty reputation instead of just a fairly good one and be in as much trouble as the rest of Detroit.

Ford Australia wouldn't be doing it for fun.
I am betting Ford WORLDWIDE has a major influence in this and be 99% dollar-driven.
Ford is a business and not here to cater for the 5% of Australias' driving population that 'enjoys' the feels of a RWD vehicle, but is too tight anyways to afford a new car off the showroom floor.
