Had my car stolen tonight, gutted as
Just thought i'd post up in the off chance it hasnt already been stripped..

EL GLi, Regency, EF taillights, 17" EL GT's, Eseries club stickers on the side and twin chrome dumpy's. OHE-911

Was last parked on Jolimont St near the MCG, so if anyone has seen it, would be tops

Pix are a bit old, had zorst and taillights changed, plus a heap of mods that i did last couple of months

Insured? As much emotion is tied up in it you can also look at it as a blessing and a chance to buy something better. Step into a fully optioned EL Fairmont GHIA, or a BA/F, or a nice white box car.

Sorry to hear that your EL was stolen, it looks hot in those pics.

Are you sure it was stolen and not towed away? I know that alot of areas, around the MCG especially, are tow away zones.

That sucks mate that is and was a clean el man too bad and i hope you find it soon, still in one piece and not scattered around the country side, or burnt out like they do to commondores and falcons up here in brissy

Yeh Id think tow away, if notified the police they should of told you if it was towed or not. Vicroads patrol the city and tow your vechile.
I work in the city if I see it I'll pass on the info to the police.

No good mate!I know your pain. Had my Ef ghia taken from the CBD last year. As above, check it hasn't been towed(if you haven't already). I think I called Melbourne council or something like that. Hopefully if it's been taken it was just some joy riding kids and it shows up in one piece. If not, I hope you have fire and theft

I can't believe it as simple as that. I guess people at the footy or out in the city are an easy target as you're generally more than half an hour away.
Break in, put a key in, walk away then half an hour later come back and hope no ones noticed

wouldnt u have to have a ford key?

if so how many people would go to the key with a ford key with intentions to steal an e series?

that assumes the key fits the barrel.... which it likely won't.
you'd need to swap the barrel for that to work, then leave the car for 30mins.

if you're that keen, you might aswell bring a spare ECU with a J3, disable smartlock and plug it in

if you can force the original ignittion barrel then it'd likely start.

smart lock is a near on 20 year old system, its not hard to beat.

I confirmed on the night that it wasnt towed, defs stolen
Sucks as i live 2.5hrs away so had to get someone to pick me up at 3am

But yes its insured, and so far i've been keeping my mind off it by looking for a new one. Thinking of an NL Ghia or EL XR6.

Just sucks there is pricks out there that do this sort of shit..

Its not to hard to bypass smart lock if you know what ur doing.

Just sucks coz I did diff gears about 3 weeks ago and my lokka got shipped yesterday!!

Oh well I spose I'll make a build thread for my next car, just have to wait the 14 days before I get insurance money!

I'm over the Camry courtesy car already

I went to Nitro Circus Saturday, there was shady characters everywhere i expected to have to walk home as well

well look on the bright side, u could have got the lokka last week and have installed it already! at least u can chuck that in the new car.

yeah it was, thank god! i have a few mates that are in the tow business, and when you hear some of the stories of what happens you'd be silly not to!

Everyone thinks that it wont happen to them, but when it does it'll bite you in the arse!

Just thought i'd post an update, they found the car!!!

6 wks later and the car turned up in south yarra!

Dunno how to feel, as its the insurance companies now, coz i just bought a 'Lane. Might not be able to afford to buy it back

All the goodies are gone though unfortunately, so if everyone could, keep an eye out for parts?

3.89 Open diff (not sure if its still in the car or not - havent seen the car yet)
Also sony XM1S monoblock
Type S splits
MTX 4 channel with a scratch in the silver/chrome bit (one of those amps that you can change the light colour by twisting the knob)

Shit, that sucks...... Also smartlock isnt hard to bypass as i managed to start my wagon (im only 14) by pulling apart the entire ignition and using a screwdriver to start it, did it within 5 minutes
