Where's the 2KW?

Postby sk8n6 » July 7th, 2010, 7:27 pm

Does anybody know where the 2kw difference is between Ef fairmont Ghia(162kw) and Ef xr6(164kw).

I think i remember reading years ago as a teenager that it was exhaust but anyone know exactly what it was that creates this difference?

wasn't the Ghia a 2.25" exhaust and the XR a 2.5" exhaust?

There are differences in the exhaust.

Someone posted an interesting picture a while ago of a EB XR6 with it's original factory exhaust, which was completely different to a stock one.

It could be something similar to that, or just minor revisions.

as mentioned, its definitely in the exhaust.
so if you're going to mod it anyway, it makes no difference.

Both exhausts are press bent but 1/2 inch difference.
ECU spark maps n shiz are the same IIRC, but I think the auto shift patterns might be different?

You could get a factory dual system which is what Sunny's thinking of I'd say.

Cam should have the model number stamped into the end of it.
