Yes there is. I'm not sure how it works, but the faster you go the heavier the steering gets, which is why you probably notice at rolling speed in carparks etc that the steering is VERY light. So at freeway speeds it would feel a bit heavier. It's a bit of a wank feature really. lol

i thought it was only on nl fairlanes. the ecu controlls a variable pressure thingy on the rack.

ARM79 knows. he's installed one on a car before. might even have a full kit.

From what I have figured out, you will need the speed sensitive rack and also a compatible engine ecu - EL Ghia/NL/DL.
I am not sure what wiring is involved, but the power steering pump and all the lines are the same as standard.
I have it on my Nissan, and I hate it. I'd much rather the steering weight be constant, makes the car far more predictable.

Had 2 EL Ghias with it, absolutely loved it. No wank.
Standard EL steering weight is shameful.

I like it to be uniform for the most part, but I can see how it would be nice in a more luxurious car it would add to the comfort. Although without it it's easy to keep your guns in shape...
I don't know if you noticed but I did over a thousand!

racks are the same, just need the variable pressure solenoid to go on the rack, then youll need the ecu to controll it or you should be able to wire it up to your speed sensor some how.

I liked that feature on my EL Ghia.
EL Ghias are the best cars you can get.

I dont mind it, but i find it too light on the freeway sometimes. Putting a bigger sway bar and gaining some negative camber on the front had firmed it up and its pretty nice now.
