the biggest advantage that a tickyford head would have is the larger exhaust valves.
buy a standard AU head from the wreckers as they all have 1mm larger exhaust valves and spend the rest on a cheap port job and it will be better than a tickford head.

The early E.B /E.L have the better, bigger ports..
If you swapped the thiner A.U valves while opening port just under seat, with A.U guides etc with the lighter valve gear you would
have the best of the two heads...
Esp with performance cam etc....
The T series had higher compression.. Which should be considered if overhauling with
ACL race series kit... Or forced induction..

doey have you already done the usual cam/chip/exhaust mods? If you haven't got a cam it's not worth pulling the head because you'll get stuff all extra power for a lot of pains in the asshole.

Hey guys i am currently building a duel fuel turbo ea and i would like to know which would be best for a low boost setup.

tickford heads have bigger exhaust vavles but how much bigger are they then a standard head, and are they really worth buying rather then doing some head work ?

I read the above thread and a few people mentioned that a Au non VCT head is a good option too.

Also if you change the head to a tickford or Au head in a 3.9litre do you have to upgrade the cam and valves and springs and ect ?

cheers.

the exhaust valves are 1mm over i think.
as said, go an AU head and get some work done, or do what ebxr mentioned.
you can use earlier model rocker gear/cam on the AU head also.

If you can get a tickford head for a decent price (Maybe $200 or so) then it's worth it, but other than that on a turbo setup it's not really a major concern - my car made 400rwhp with a stock ED head and cam, just upgraded valve springs.

You're better off getting a reground cam for your existing head if you want to help it make more power.

So what would you guys recommend for a reground cam and how much does that cost.

Also is it hard to make bigger exhaust valves and what head work would you recommend for a low boost setup.

And if i went Au head for example could i still use my current running gear thats inside the 3.9 head and would it raise my compression ?

I just want to find out whats the best head to go for before i go out and buy one. Also trying to work out if its even worth the time and effort.
