au v8 alternator screech with a bad misfire..... help please

hey every one, my ute has been getting random misfires at over 2500 rpm (driving or in neutral) and my alterantor screeches at the same time then going back to normal (normal meaning driving perfect) just put new spark plugs and leads but problem is getting more frequent. does any one have any ideas, any help would be muchly appreciated.... I've had an alternator screetching before... The culprit was the rear bearing, as it was spinning in its housing.
Pulled it apart, replaced the bearing, and it was good as new.

Don't know about the misfire, but if you've done the leads and plugs, have you tested each coil pack? Its not uncommon for one to start intermittently play up as its dying.

Also, on the AU v8's they had problems with the cam synchroniser...they schreech and cause rough running...

if its the cam synchronise, will it screech and run roughly while driving??? And where is the cam synchroniser? Cheers mate

Yeah it will..
also will screech on startup..
The cam synchroniser is under the coil packs..
It takes the spot of where the dizzy used to go on the older models..

Also, if it is that, ford price is something crazy like $800
Better off getting one from the states for about $90 landed..
