ED V8 Fairmont fuel economy

Postby mygreened » August 31st, 2010, 6:52 pm

I'm thinking of selling my Hilux 4WD & buying a V8 ED Fairmont or maybe ED XR8. I want to know what kind of fuel economy are you getting & how much it's costing ( both manual or auto). I'm interested in this type of car as I had a 6 cyl falcon which was awsome on fuel & I'm over the 4WD. I just want to have a real nice street cruiser back & come on some club runs with you guys. I'm only really interested in the V8 but all your input would be greatly appreciated
Thanks John

What year/model is your hilux mate? Got any pics?

As per your question. I roughly get about 14L per 100km in my manual ED XR8.

I would regularly get 600k's out of a 68L tank in my 5L NC & NF Fairlanes... its was generally better economy than what I get out of the two 4L ED's I've had.

I get about 450km out of a tank in my wagon with 3.08 gears and auto. I may or may not thrash it though..
