early e series dash

has anybody put a new dash in ur car? can u drill the odo back to what the car has actually done?

im looking at one that has done over 300k and mine has done 215k and i really dont want mine to read well over 300k. is there anything i can do?

Yeah, If Its an EA/B/D, you can change your odometer from your current old one into the new one. Quite simple, dismantle your old one by unscrewing all the screws holding it in place, remove from the casing, pull the cover for the speedo off and the needles (needles first) and continue to dismantle it until you can pull your odo out, then do the same to the new one and reverse it to put all back together

And no, you cannot "drill" one back. its dead impossible

also what type of car is this for? EA/B/D?
If its for a EF/EL, they are impossible to wind back unless you send it away to VDO australia so that they can change the E-Prom2 from your old one to your new one which you have to send both of your clusters away.

Well XG Has the same cluster as EA/B/D but is more focused on i think the EB2 Cluster but still the same process

I drilled one back for fun once...slow though....took 3hrs for it to drop 70000kms...slightly fcked up the single km dial though..
