i got pulled over for speeding the other day by a patrol car with the camera on the roof, it read 91 - 97 in an 80 zone so i was stuffed and i know myself that my car is unroadworthy :S
as soon as the cop saw my car he pointed out my white walls, heights and a scratch on my windshield thought i was gong to be defected for sure!
luckily i didnt act like a nob and just went allong and listened to him have a winge to me then after 15 mins he came back to my car and said he would left me off for the defect and downgrade the speeding fine to 89 and 1 point! i was stoked probz one of the nicest cops i have seen, being my first offence might have helped too
anyone else had a good experience with a cop?

I got pulled over in warnambool doing 50 down the mains street (was a 40 zone)
cop took my licence, looked at my address, commented that he had a holiday house in the same town and gave me a warning.
pays to be an 'out of towner' some times

It pays not to be a defensive idiot. I don't think i've had any bad experiences with the Police.
I did a u bolt in broad daylight on a main road, did a big fishy up the road and when i was admiring the smoke trail in my rear vision mirror, an officer on a bike appeared out of it looking like the terminator. I pulled straight over before he hit the party lights haha. The hoon law just came in and he asked me why he shouldn't take the car. I admitted i was a total wally and that i didn't have any offenses in the last 3 years. He gave me the standard loss of traction fine and said don't misbehave in a such a visible place haha.
Come to think of it, i had another loss of traction fine 6 months after that. The weird thing about that time was the officer asked me if i had been drinking, to which i replied, Yes but it was hours ago. He didn't breath test me, i must have an honest face haha

. He asked me why i thought he pulled me over, and i said loss of traction. I don't believe in denying sh!t i have done.

cops are fine with me.
half the club has seen me get out of fines and defects.
iv had 1 fine from a camera which i got out of by sending a letter.
and 1 from a cop on a bike. (6 months and still havent paid it i just keep calling up for an extension)
other then that i have been pulled over more times then i can count. for reasons i should have been fined or defected. and still they leave me alone with just warnings.
the key is to not be a smart ass and not argue. especially when you know you are in the wrong. just play dumb a bit and apologise.

I've only had 2 speeding fines, both times they were just into the second bracket and both times the coppers knocked it back into the lower bracket of 0-10 or 0-15 over or whatever it is now.
I just said yes I know I was speeding, how much? Oh.. didnt think I was going that quick, sorry sir. etc etc etc.
I got pulled over once when the cops were looking for someone driving a green car who had been over south side of town smashing stuff up, letterboxes, bins, signs and all that crap. 2 cop cars pulled me up, 4 blokes jumped out and surrounded my car, pulled the keys out of the ignition ( I'd already turned it off as soon as I stopped), then I copped a barrage of abuse and questions
Got let go half an hour later with an apology from all the cops involved, one of em was going around my car writing stuff into his book I'm assuming to defect me to which he tore up n threw into the back of the cop car as he walked back once the other officer said nah he's cool lets go..
Pretty sketchy havin that many cops come and surround you at like 1am when you're by yourself, especially when I hadnt actually done anything wrong haha.

How the hell did it read 91-97?
If it showed 91, then they take off 3 for instrument adjustment and you would have been fined on 88.
So he didn't do you any favours.

I do this and I've only been done once, and it was only coz I couldn't be bothered braking down an decline late at night with no one around.
I like Rollin's idea of pulling over and turning the car off so they don't have to yell over your exhaust, and don't hear it if they're keen to pick on you. Makes for a calmer atmosphere.

I'd agree! If your nice to them admitting you were an idot, after the cop calms down and stops trying to eat your face off. They generally either let you go, knock some ks off the fine or if you really deserved it for doing skids or something plain stupid they just pre lube your ass then send you off the court with a smile on their face. You can't complain if you really did something wrong so there's no point arguing.

I've just been unlucky enough this year to lose 11 points in 6 months, nothing silly but just in the wrong place wrong time and not thinking about my speed.
But a few months ago I left my missus' house and always give it a little bit, not wot and always just to the speed limit and its a 1km stretch with a t-intersection so I indicated right and a cop about 200m up the road had a car pulled over.
I was doing about 80 and its 100 zone and he ran to the middle of the road and waved his arms and I just about didnt see the coot it was so dark. 'Pull over back there, we're gunna have a chat to you' he reckons so I did what he asked and they finished ticketing the other bloke on the other side of the road and they walk back.
Cop: Is there anything in your car we should know about, know would be a good time to tell us mate?
Me: What! You mean like drugs or something?
Cops: Whatever mate, I just saw you fidgeting around the console when I pulled you over as if you were hiding something.
Me: Nah man, I just knew the first thing you would want to see is my license and I couldnt find my wallet.
Cop: Ok no worries.
Me: (PHew!)
Cop: We pulled you over because you were speeding, fark we heard you coming 40 seconds away.
Me: Actually mate, I wasnt speeding or doing anything silly.
Cop: Whatever mate, you were speeding when I pulled you over.
Me: Actually Ill be honest with you, I saw your lights flashing before I even came around the corner so I definitly wasnt speeding.
So he walks around the car running his fingers under the gaurds, at this stage I thought great.. defect as well. And did all the rego checks etc and they both walk back.
Cop: 'Mate, have a good night, just remember to keep the speed down'
Me: Look honestly, I was doing 'under' the speed limit the whole way.
Cop: Whatever mate just keep the noise of that V8 down then.
At which point I thought 'Ok whatever dick, you dont even know your cars'
But just said "Cheers mate, you boys have a good night, I appreciate the warning".
Only driving home did I realize I still had on a hippy headband from a bit of a dress rehersal we had for a mates party... I must of looked like such a bogan, + I was heading from the direction of central qld's 'nimbun' town. Byfield.

Well i got done for no p-plates twice in two days by the same cop.
The first i was in the wrong and didn't have any on. And i was heading to a mates place to have a few beers and bottles of jager.
The next time i on the way home after my mates place and there where plates on when i left as i said "don't want to get booked again" and they must have fallen off and i didn't notice.
And the only other time i have been booked was when i was doing 90/91 in a 100 zone that had been changed to a 60 zone about 20 mins before i came through and it was just on dark and there were cops everywhere(this was before i get booked for no p-plates). And when i got pulled over the cop said i had to remove my p-plate holder as it blocked the vision of my number plate and if i didn't take it off i would be defected.

i got pulled just down the road from my house.
cop wanted to know why i smoked it up off the lights and why my car had no rego, i then explained that i just done my reg on the net and didnt have the reciept number to give him.
and then said it wasnt a burnout it was cos this was the cars first drive with the new motor in it and that it was the oil in the exhaust from when the old donk died, and it was burning it out. so he pointed out that my tints where very dark. i said it must be my blue interior light makes it look like that he then wanted to check the engine number. i said do you have to cos you wont like my engine bay. he said open it so i did he looked at my donk and turbo and said is it a 3litre conversion and is it engineered, i said no and not yet he shook his head closed the bonnet and said do it asap.
that was the nicest cop as any other cop in sa would of torn the car apart looking for drugs and slapped on a regency defect.

i ran a red light in a 60 zone doin 85 at 4am in Mile end. cop was sitting at the lights and obviously chased me with agression lol. his words were and i quote " WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING!?" i explained i had 3min to make check in for my bro and his mate who were both blind drunk and meant to be in Bali in 8hrs, he took one look at Isaak in the back seat with his face all skun up from falling off a fence he was attempting to balance on while taking a piss (which he happily explained after calling the officer "fritz") he was english btw. my brother meanwhile was trying to put his pants on, (id dragged him out of a hottub with 3 hotties minutes earlier) hard life that prick has. anyway the officer checked over my licence, told Isaak to clean up his face or they wouldnt let him on the plane, suggested they try the coconut prawns at sum place in Kuta and told me to get the **** outa Adelaide ASAP.
unbelievable, must have felt sorry for me..... i didnt pick em up from the airport on the way back either

first time i got pulled over was just a random license check and breath test, that was all ok except i had one of those metal signs hanging from below my p plate off the same suction cup and he said if he was really picky he'd defect me for it but other than that have a good night, 2nd time i got pulled over was the next night for speeding and reckless driving (swerving through traffic) at 10pmwas doing bout 110 in a 70 zone they were behind me and didnt see them saw the lights in my mirror so moved over then they came in behine me i though **** there goes my license, they asked why they pulled me over i just said speeding and reckless driving they agreed, asked my approx how fast i was going, i was doing 90

they gave me the talk and threatened some stuff i agreed i did bad and they pulled me up in a 60 zone they could have taken my license then and there for being 30 over but they dropped it to 80 in a 70 for me gotta love sweet talking cops :p

Me and a few mates got pulled over in an industrial area on wet night and all the cop said to us was if your gonna drive like a idoit do it some where quiet and less populated hahaha so we did
i think he just couldnt be F$%^ed to write out all the fines
Also got spotted by a cop in buderium with 3 people in my ute (only a 2 seater) and freaked out so i drove down a few back streets and sure enough they found me parked on the side of the road. He explained to me the fine for over loading etc. so i explained i only have 1 point left and all that,so he let me off with a 40 dollar fine for failing to lock my car, i didnt even now that you could get fined for that but i was bloody happy none the less

i got pulled over near one of the 'rough' areas in warrnambool and had the police do a full drug search of my car
it took over an hour, there was only 2 of them. one was writing stuff down and the other was searching the car.
They even made me take my subs out of their box so they could see inside them.
I should have been defected and charged for speeding but they were never mentioned (car was way too low and too loud. and i was going 20 over speed limit when i was pulled over)
They just apologised for the inconvenience and went on their way.

smashed it off the lights without seeing the cop behind me, once again prob 90 in a 80zone and just talked to him nicley, admitted what i did was stupid and said i deserve everything i got.. let me off and just said next time you floor it off the lights look in your rear view mirror and look for police lol

I got let off from in excess of 120k over the limit because I admitted I was being a dickhead. A mate got done by Constable Kodak a few months ago. ticket was for 260k in an 80 zone. (R6) He got off because the pic of the plate was blurry.....

When I tore the ligament in my foot( crutches) I got pulled over after the rear p plate fell off.
Cop:any reason your not displaying a rear p plate?
Me: it must of fell down(was sitting on the parcel shelf) would you mind putting it back up?
Cop: (being a smart arse) your legs broken mate?
Me:( points to crutches in the backseat)well my ankle is actually.
Cop:(piss's himself laughing) no worries mate have a good day.
And he put my p plate back up.

I've been done under the hoon laws once already. I got let off with a "careless driving" 3 points and $300 fine a couple of months ago (could have easily done me for 30 day loss of car, go to court etc etc).
I turned a corner, snapped sideways in first then flat shifted into second and held it out for about 100m up the road. Suddenly there's an unmarked cop behind me.
Conversation was something along the lines of:
Cop: "So, what was your reason?"
Me: "wasn't thinking"
Cop "Not even when you changed to second and had a better go?"
Me: "Clearly not"
somewhere in the middle was something along the lines of:
Cop: "Don't I know you from this sort of stuff before?"
and ended with
Cop: "Stop doing bloody wheelies!"
:-/ Close call. Last time by the time I paid for impound/tow fee, lawyer and fines (for the 48hr impound) it cost over $2,000.

i got busted drag racing 3 times. left of with a warning and nothing more 1st 2 times. 3rd time 2 months back i got caught. i was doing well over 140km/h as he pointed out, but only registered like 40 over (in an 80kh zone). Downgraded it to a 30-35km/h, 4 points and 1 month loss of licence. No rwc, no defect, no hoon laws/impound, no fine etc etc...
These were all on fri nights on prinny hwy.
you tell me if thats good/bad. i coundt myself as hell lucky due to them having 0 tolerence on fri nights! lol

Haha if that had been the truth then I might have, except I've never broken 3rd gear and I already came out of it at 80km/h in a 50 zone
