Stolen Car :(

Postby ea224 » October 27th, 2010, 11:07 pm

Hey guy and girls.

Me and my mate were at burleigh heads the other day to go to the beach and when we came back my mates car was gone. Just wanted to know if anyone has seen it or knows were it is. It's a RED VN BERLINA ,stock with factory hubcaps. It also has a towbar with a rusty towball and roof racks. and if they are still on red p plates in the widows.. The rego is 428 LSW on QLD plates. Thanks for any help you can give and hopefully he gets it back. Its not worth much but i still cant believe people would do that to someone. Its made me paranoid now about leaving my car haha.
Lost a thong mate?

Will keep an eye out. Unfortunately VNs are super easy to steal so it's something you have to expect :(

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

Exactly.
If you think locking the doors will do, then expect it to be stolen.

Thefts of this type are usually opportunistic, and the car should be recovered within a week, possibly in the same condition. It's usually a bunch of punks wanting a ride home, as opposed to professional thieves who will rebirth and resell the car in some form. I doubt a stock VN would be worth their time.

Sympathy to your friend all the same, best to learn from it and take preventative action for next time. The VN was a traditional favourite for thieves due to lack of security and strong performance.

Sorry to hear about it, makes us all angry thinking about it..
But these days if you don't have a good quality alarm your asking for it,
Hope your mate gets it back!

ABS = spongy brakes, but you'll slow to about 60

non-ABS = lock up at 100 & skid past the roo doing about 95. But you'll look sick doing it
