I don't fully understand what is going on here... Using a BA skin with the important parts on an AU still there.
I hope his parent know what he has done to their car.

I cannot wait for a cop to see that. wow. Kudos for trying, but should have really integrated the icc unit. More effort, but it has been done.

My EB's interior looked like arse for a year until I finally sorted out a T5/GT surround for the BA shifter. Let's hope he doesn't leave it looking like that for a year :?

Just to put it into perspective, this is what FourI6 off AFF had in his AU for a while. The ICC wasn't functional but the way the AC controls etc. are integrated into it wasn't a bad job! I quite like it actually, unlike Tony Martin's effort

The AU Fairmont / Fairlane dash looks alright though. I reckon it's 20x better than the lower-spec dash.

Some of the AU stuff is still there (tape player is going) as its going to be implemented into the BA ICC... The Clock and aircon controls are only there at the moment looking all shit as im awaiting to get the rest of the BA gear on Wednesday..

I really only started this on Friday arvo and its no-where completion... If you wish, I can always post pics here for your laughs/wtf?'s/kudos etc etc if you wish?

and its my parents car.. both the EF and this AU are, as I have clearly stated. and also its being worked on as its not needed for another month.... It will eventually have a GPS/Touch Screen CD player and climate control implemented into it too...

I will upload more pics at the end of the week with hopefully some progress and it looking half decent.

and that was only just after i got it connected and turned on too Kr1sto..

and also nstg8a, its just a cheap ass speedo as the factory one is stuffed

I don't see how a Dash Conversion is funny???? I mean yeah, the fact that 'it doesnt have to be driven for a month' and he's taped things in that are gunna be replaced is funny. Not the way I (or most people) would go about doing it but each to thier own.

AU's are BA shells, so shouldn't everything just bolt in? Buggerall modification needed?

Heaterbox /firewall setup is completely different from what I know. It'd probably be just as difficult to put BA shit in an AU, as it would be on an E-Series.

Still to do:

1. Get all associated parts on Wednesday (listed above)
2. Buy some fiberglass and fiberglass sheet
3. Install and mod it all
4. Install a single din CD player
5. Work on the BA selector gear to work in an AU
6. Work on tiptronic to work in the AU also
7. Check everything in usual conditions it will be subject to
8. Fix anything that may not be right (Speedo and Tacho need replacing, Have digital items to replace them with)
9. Enjoy it

Does this mean he doesnt intend on getting the speedo and tacho needles to move?

but i would like to see how it looks as a finished product as much as he would.

let us know how the progress goes tony.
