ok iv searched every were to find an answer, there all rumors not facts has any one passed and registered a pre ba falcon turbo in sa im thinking of keeping it small, stock ecu j3 edit 6 to 12psi maby strait lpg if it helps with passing emissions iv heard the $3000 mark for engineers cert but talking to a friend at work who did a left to right hand drive conversion on a 60s mustang himself and it only cost 800 for the engineers cert.i live in the riverland to a fair distance from adelaide would this make a diference my mate didnt have do go to regency to get his mustang with cert appoved he was sent to a murray bridge workshop where an offcial inspector for rural sa passed him and he was realy helpfull i know its not the same thing compared to a performance mod but its the best first hand experience iv heard of in sa with engineers and inspections has any one had experience with rural inspections by approved inspectors maby i should just go v8 or crazy cam setup

i wanna go turbo tho and i love my el she has treated me well would be a shame to ditch her for a ba and there is no chalenge in buying a car with a turbo every one has a ba turbo

Wow use full stops man haha.
Going straight gas should help You avoid Some emmissions testing. Engineers all have different rates they charge. Be prepared to have to upgrade brakes and suspension to meet an engineers if power is more thAn standard. Not all engineers will mind, but some will.

not familiar with the requirements in SA, the difference generally comes down to the emmisions test required.
An engineer would be the first person to speak to to get a guide of effort.
engineers certs alone are around $700.
emmisions testing depends on a number of factors but in victoria its typically around $2000.
earlier year cars and structural mods like RHD conversions have a different list of requirements, so while they still need the engineers cert, theres no need for an emmisions test hence the price difference.

Is there any one in S.A. who is legaly driving a pre ba turbo falcon at all, I know there around i see an AU turbo all the time and he's not hiding the fact either. I was talking to the guy that sells the cheap kits in S.A. he recons you cant, he said just drive it till you get caught take it off, clear it and put it back on later great sales pitch hey! I'd be one of the unlucky one's that got his car crushed or seized for being cocky.
