I don't know what to call this yet... your opinions please!

"Person A" called me up to do a job for him last year around June 2010. The job was some interior fiberglassing for his customer's car. The job was quoted at $500. We both agreed, shook hands and the job was done.
"Person A" calls me a couple of days later asking if I can help out with maybe doing some glassing in this car's boot. I explained to "Person A" that I was having surgery on my hand and I couldn't do much. He said "any help would be appreciated". So, after doing what I could with 1 hand, respectively, the boot ended up unfinished. Due to other engagements, my hand not recovering well, and the fact that "Person A" couldn't make up his mind about which way he wanted things, "Person A" used another workshop to finish off the boot setup. I agreed that because the boot setup wasn't finished, I wasn't going to charge him for it.
After countless messages and phone calls, I pay "Person A" a friendly visit at the start of December 2010. Our conversation was "neutral". I asked him if he could pay me, at least some money, he said he couldn't afford it right now (even though he had taken a payment from another customer in front of me). He proceeded to tell me that he still needs to get money from the customer so he could pay me. I hate talking about money. But I do believe in playing fair. I had to run off so enough of the chit-chat. Throughout the holidays though, "Person A" would post on "Facebook" all the fancy new stuff he got/bought himself for Xmas (Craftsman Brand adjustable ratchet spanners, a new MIG welder and welder's pack worth over $500 and a few other items).
On Wednesday just past (5/01/11), I called "Person A" to see if he was home/his garage to pay him a visit. No pickup. Because I was in the area, I thought I would pop in. After having a bit of a discussion with him about the work I've done for him and how he/other businesses are claiming credit for, I brought up the topic about the money. He proceeds to get agro at the fact that I want so much. I said to him "Step up and be a man. You shook my hand and gave me your word. If you can't give it all to me then give me some." He started with excuses and started screaming that what I did isn't worth the money." I tried to reason with him and said again "Pay me what you owe me like you've already paid everyone else."
He pushed me.
*he screams "Get the **** out of my house!"
He pushed me again.
At this point in time, his mom walks into the garage screaming at me to "get out."
I turned to her and said, "Ma'am, I've always, ALWAYS treated you and your family with respect. Teach your son to treat others with respect too!"
I turn around and he smashes me on the right side of my head with something... IT WAS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!
Now, I know some of you out there are expecting me to go on with what happened, I'm sorry but I cannot reveal anything incase I incriminate myself.
In the end, I'm still cleaning chunks of his ass off my shoes. But with no cash.
Out the front of his house, he's screaming "You're fucked ****! From this day forward you better look over your shoulder coz you're so fucked! I know where you live and I don't give a **** about you or your family!"
This has escalated to him posting on "Facebook" that I'm desperate. I'm a dog or a rat for acting the way I did for $500. But he fails to tell people that he started it. That he hit someone who's sick and weak to the point where he can't even open a can of coke without help! I'm not even meant to be driving! And he calls me "scum"?
Oh, and don't get me wrong. It's not like he DOESN'T have the money! He does! Of course when he operates a business based on cash. Doesn't pay any overheads! Nothing.
