Well the jist of the story is that my mum is a patternmaker and we'rein the process of developing a pattern to retrim the upper and lower dash and centre console in a faux leather/suede.
Was just wondering if anyone else would be interested? We could supply pre-cut materials so all you'd need to do is stick them on. Doortrims are also in development. Would be a classier way than vinyl paint.

No idea on price yet. Also depends on what material you were after. I mean italian leather is going to by 11ty times more expensive than a faux leather for example. One of the issues i beliEve we'rw going to have with a genuine leather is clearance between trim plastics, unless you go kangaroo leather which mega bucks.

For those interested in price a kit for the upper dash in a basix faux suede should cost around the $300-400 mark. And we're trying to set it up so you DONT have to rip the dash out to do it.

You can have a free EA dash in a couple of weeks (as I mentioned last night). It's got a crack in the top, but that shouldn't be a big issue if you're recovering it.

Bump.
Has to be leather for the upper dash. Unfortunately it wont be DIY. I'm considering doing it on a change over basis. We're in tge final development stages and i should have a picture of the completed product in a few hours.

Ummm what sort of benefit do we get from buying this off you?? If the dash has to come off wouldn't it be just as easy for us to cut the vinyl off our dash and take it to the autotrimmer?

How is this stuff to clean? Imagine it catches the dust and then is a prick to clean?
Out of everything I have done to the interior in my car, the vinyl dye on the dash is a perfect finish, looks like factory black and can be cleaned with a bit of armour all. This would be great to cover the plastics with as painting them is always a dodgy thing, but never had an issue with vinyl.

it's simple to clean. A wet microfibre cloth will suffice.
And you can't cover interior plastics with leather. You will have clearance issues when replacing them. MAYBE a THIN Vinyl would be ok, because of the nature of the material, you can heat it up enough to stretch over the edges.

What about airbag dash's? do you have one to use? You can have the one I have when you come up.
You need to finish it up and get some good pics, I'm sure they will sell pretty well especially if people have a choice of colours.
Oh, what about the glove box? I assume thats included?
