Dirty copper went for a burn down Kew Boulevard back in the 70's in his Police Divvy and killed his copper mate when he lost it and went 45 metres down a steep bank, and now he's got the job of top traffic cop. What a joke VicPol! His excuse back then was "I don't remember" (why he was in the area notorious for hoon's and other shit) .. and because of that excuse the Coroner delivered an open finding.

So many shit coppers in Vic these days. There are obviously a lot more good ones, but there's still a lot of shit ones, especially at or near the top.

Doesn't remember? You would think that if you had an accident that killed someone you would remember where or why you were travelling on that road. Smells like bullshit to me.

Guilty or not I think that his comments are valid

But Mr Walshe, 60, said yesterday that having been involved in the fatal accident made him better able to do his job.

"I certainly have a greater appreciation than other people would who haven't been involved in trauma like I have been," he said.

"It makes me more passionate about the message I am trying to deliver out there - anybody can be involved in road trauma."

The death of Constable Fleming continued to haunt Mr Walshe.

"When you are the driver ... and you lose a close mate it has an impact ... that you carry for the rest of your life. It's just a really difficult thing that you have to live with," he said.


His "I don't remember" could be true, Imagine being in a collision in an old XW/XY that your probably not wearing a seat belt.

I'm sure he regrets what happened, but saying that he doesn't remember indicates to me that he is trying to avoid owning up to what really happened (and anyone who has driven on Kew boulevard knows what people get up to there).

Being a cop he is supposed to be a role model of how to behave.

Most of the real coppers I've ever spoken to reckon all the traffic cops are a waste of space.

Could be a mentality they build up from the amount of attitude they cop, that's now ingrained in them so much that any new recruits get absorbed into the same mindset almost immediately.

That plus the fact they've gotta enforce rules that a bunch of people in offices somewhere decided was a good idea.

Don't think it'll ever change.
