Its a idea ive had in the back of my head for a while and im wondering if anyone on here is a cop and has been thru the interveiw and tests. What sort of things should i be ready for?

I understand that the money is only ok and that i have to put up with a lot of crap. But it seems to be a job that i could go and make some sorta change in how people see the cops.

What u guys rekon?

Couple of my mates went up to the NT and became cops there, was heaps easier than in Vic apparently. More on the job training I guess? And long roads ;)

2 mates did it. It took well over a year for each to be called up after they applied. One worked his arse off to pass the physical test, lost 20kgs etc then failed the psych test where they sit you in front of a panel.

The other quit after 4 or so months of late night booze bus shifts.

Getting paid **** all, doing shift work and dealing with the scum of society isn't very appealing to me.

I'm trying at the moment. I already deal with scum, gross medical matter and get paid farkall for it.

I have tried ACT police twice and about to apply for ACT, QLD, and VIC.

Each state is so different with application processes so ensure you know how the process works and expect to fail a few times. :banghead:

The job appeals to me because of the randomness of how your shift would come together, the trust the public put in you to keep them safe, and trying to educate young punks that planking is not cool.

This decision is yours, not your boss's.
