well i definatly wouldnt put mine in the category of best of the best, maybe nice and neat but far from best..
still a chance to flash my bits though..lol

but one persons opinion on whats best might not be the best to another..
maybe a list of what you would call best of the best and a poll for us members to vote on..??

exactly. Anyone who posts anything with stockies or photoshopped images should be banned. Nominating your own car is just pathetic lol.

No mention of NWOLB? MR-DOSE, Fordfan351's EF, Darins EL Fairmont, the Cypress Blue twin turbo EA from years ago. The Predator, Sequential XR8, Bob Romano's EB Ghia, the list goes on. I think John's EF deserves a mention too. I don't think there's been another car that's been as copied, or at least attempted to copy lol. Plus it gets a hell of a lot of attention when it's displayed.

My personal favourite is DJR EB5. Won 94 Sandown, 94 Bathurst, fitted with EF panels and won the 95 Championship. Written off by Bowe in 96. Better results than 80 or so AU V8SC's combined.

lol at self nomination.

I dont really know any E series that look mint and go good to match.

Maybe JETXR and Pyroay when chameleon paint was cool.

That being said TUFED6, Hiboost's, Dave's charged XR8, Rollin's ED and that black EL? XR6T are among my favourites.

A bit left of the topic but I think The Mitre 10 Falcon of Mark Larkham was the best touring car of its time. In fact I think he always had the best looking race cars.
Cant find many pics of it anymore :(

Dude your car is nearly up there with those guys, and i'd say very shortly it will be as good/even better. I don't think there is an e-series out there with an engine bay like yours!

Not a fan of the bright colours with big chrome rims, not my cup of tea.

I like tough subtle cars with plenty of go.. GO > SHOW.

Most of my favourites are on this site... Fritzz, hiboost tuffed6, brocky8 etc.. all haven't been riced up but have impressive drivelines.. I also liked to see them being driven hard which is also why i love rollins, oplese and anyone else with HP who use it on REAL racetracks :P There are plenty of other e-series I LOVE on this site who i haven't mentioned because I just picked a handful off the top of my head.

TUFED6 and Hiboost are definite winners, epic balls.

NWOLB also looks brilliant, lots of attention to detail there but I'd put a different driveline in it for more fasts :P

I do like JETXR still, would prob raise it a tiny bit though so it's harder to tear the bars off when clipping ripple strips :)

I have to continue the Rollin/ed40 circle-jerk and say that his car gets me hard also, it gets driven properly!

Well, after owning Pyroay for a short pain-ridden period of time ...I have to say I like subtle and well-thought out cars, and not over-modded and glammed show-ponys.

Can't deny that Fritzz and HiBoost are mammoth power machines, so they take the cake in that department ...but then my faves are the ones that have a nice balance between show and go, a nice subtle mix of the two ...I would have to quote EF FECTIV, RAT, LOW GHIA, XH5LWEPN, XR59, ED40 and Craig's CYANID Fairmont as my faves over here ...they are all clean, tidy cars that pack a nice amount of whallop ...and they actually get driven, rather than polishing a bay in the garage.

Saw this EL XR6T on Carpoint. A nice example of something that has been packaged together nicely ...would love my car to turn out something like this:
http://ninemsn.carpoint.com.au/all-cars ... &__Dx=mode
Hot Chilli Red EL XR6, 5-spd manual, with BF F6 TYPHOON motor and supporting mod's, 3" exhaust etc etc.
298 rwkw @ 12 psi with re-tune likely.

Re: Best Of The Best. E Series

Postby needfordspeed » June 12th, 2011, 5:31 pm

I think it depends on the era as well cars like NWOLB, MRDOSE, FLYRYD (Doug's EA), Daves EL XR8, YLOOZ (i'm sure there's a few i've forgotten) were all probably the best of the best for that era, for the last few years more and more eseries that have had big dollers spent on them have been popping up.

My personal favourites are probably TUFED6, 4LTRJET, Fritzz EL, Mikes Dyno EA, Perth 8 second EL, DTM EL, Adrian Vella's EL, 6BOOST's old EA....i'm sure there's some i've forgotten lol.

There's a few cool ones in the works from the club as well that i'm enjoying watching the progress of e.g. EF EFECTV, HYPOEB, Rollin, Xr6 Berto etc they're all gonna be pretty mint once they're done.

yep, was very different back when the club was in its infantcy, with 13 second passes a dream to most, and only the big dollar cars being the best of the best.

compared to now when a lot of the cars that are being mentioned are very much DIY projects, and whilst there has been a lot of money going into them, so much is much cheaper to do now.

I'm personally impressed with the amount of seriously impressive cars we've had some kind of association with over the years.

Niiice, I think with some minor attention to detail, your car will come up trumps, the wheels you have on there now, I think will go well with the front bar once its all painted, also your interior is quite different aswell. Look forward to the updates. :)

hi peeps.

Nice thread this one and an awesome laid back forum. I'm mo from Thommo been lookin for a nice el XR or something in manual. Driving ma's old VN at the moment, rubbish car smalls like tzatziki inside, Mate has an EL Xr and its a respectable handler and quick too.

Been lurking the foum but only just joined and this thread caught my eye, I've had this pic for a while not sure whose car it is and forgot where I saved it from,

Image

Looks like it was taken at an AFD. But it's very clean. Not sure if it is an XR or not. This is the sort of thing I'd love to go for. At the moment I'd never show my face at a cruise with a VN but hopefully soon I'll find a respectarble Manual EF/L and can come cruising.

Looks like it was taken at an AFD. But it's very clean. Not sure if it is an XR or not. This is the sort of thing I'd love to go for.

Can't recall his username now, but it was Daniel's car, from memory it was a 5 speed EF Futura, gunmetal gray. very schmick car.

The thing I love about your car John is you've taken the initiative to make your car different from the pack and looking insane also. Kudos +

i think alot of people who have gone through the process of something like an engine conversion or decent turbo setup and have done alot or all the work themselves will go for the more subtle but mint cars with a big engine setup.

i don't think you need body kits and hectic paint jobs to have a mint looking e-series, i love some of the simple, clean looking examples in this thread.
i'm not sure if its cause i dont read street ford n shit, but there doesn't seem to be as many auto salon style E series when compared to commodores, but thats not such a bad thing lol
