ba manual lever

hey all i have a new ba gearknob thinking they would have the same thread as the ed manual lever :doh: i thought id ask before i buy.. will a ba manual lever bolt straight onto my ea t5?

thanks mate know anywhere i can get 1 cheap? was just looking on ebay and nothing on there and ford quoted me $160 or something

I believe ef-au one may be easier to source, and I believe there the same, as you've discovered alread boxcar back had a different thread, to ef/l
I think ef-bf was the same, but double check this

I personly machined and tapped the ed shifter to suit, trim a fair bit off height off at the same time, and made it suit the ef boot properly.

boxcar and ef/el are the same thread.
i just chucked a eb manual knob on my el without a hassle.

yea i have a ea and a ef shifter they both have the same thread. im thinking about either cutting and threading my shifter or just getting a sleeve made up i can screw into my gearknob and then onto the shifter. ill see how it goes tomorrow anyway

ok so i just threw the ba gearknob onto the ef lever just to make sure and turns out because the ef lever has a longer thread the ba knob will screw onto it it just wont go on the ed 1 because the knob hits the thick part of the lever before the thread can reach far enough to grip.
so yes ba gearknobs can fir el/ef gearsticks for any1 interested :)
