What do you listen to...

Postby SLY347 » January 14th, 2008, 6:27 pm

Personally, I can not work on my car without some form of background music. I go nuts without it, plus I find it keep me focussed. I usually listen to alternative/hip-hop style music. Bands like Foo Fighters, Propellerheads, Hilltop Hoods, Rage Against the Machine, Pendulam etc...
What about everyone else?

Most alternative shit, not so much "death" metal, but some metal like COB and DT is wicked. Nowadays I listen to a lot of "skip-hop" as well like The Herd, Urthboy, Muph and Plutonic, Hilltop Hoods etc, it's good shit.

When im working on the car i just listen to doom and black metal stuff and maybe a little Black Sabbath, Rammstein or Black Label Society thrown in but all in all it doesn't vary from what i'd listen to on any other occasion.

Hell yeah, I do. Love Dream Theatre! Are you a musicians SLY347 or oneredED? I thought it would only mainly be musicians that listened to Dream Theatre because they'd be the only people able to appreciate what's going on most of the time.
I'm a drummer and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theatre drummer) is one of the many guys I would be more than happy to be as good as one day.

As for the other question, I don't actually listen to music at all when working on the car. Wierd.

I've only got one DreamTheatre album from the early 90s, they all look like I.T. geeks on the cover sleeve, dressed in black lol (not meaning to offend those in the I.T. industry...)

Can't remember the album name but it had an awesome track called "Take The Time", awesome discipline with timing changes, there's something kind of military-like about the percussion as well. I'm not a muso though.

I either listen to cheesy 80s shit (Prince, Madonna, Nu Shooz, Chaka Khan, etc  ), or 90s-00s chillout (Air, Morcheeba, Zero7, etc), but that's in the wagon when cruising to work & back. When I'm in the EB i'm too busy thrashing it around, or listening for any nasty metal-on-metal noises coming from the engine bay to be bothered with music.

Anything death metal with double drum kicks through the sub. I love that constant doubles action!
I listen to anything from death metal to metal to rock and a bit of RNB (when I'm with the mrs).
Guitarist here too. Ford headbangers unite! Haha.

Awsome, here's a song, not about pingpong, but still a top 10 hit for sure!

What is the car with a i'll fitting bar
Faded Plastics Cable tie tactics
get them low, add a turbo

E-Series! E-Series!

MPi conversions with sideways excursions
Sticky lifters, finger blisters
get them cheap, give em a heap

E-Series! E-Series!

(guitar solo, skid sounds)

Central locking, sometimes shocking
head Gasket goes, always blows
BA parts conversion smarts

E-Series! E-Series!
