Hi guys,

i know this sounds stupid but my car doesnt say what a/c gas it uses does anyone know what it would have? Its a 1992 EBII sxr6 and i tried regassing it at work but the high pressure coupling leaked while regassing.
Do they have a special regassing coupling for these model fords?

Regards

92 id say it would be r12 which u need a special licence for or it may even be gone now.
u have to get it converted or just get r134a connectors.
cheers josh.

The '93 ED introduced CFC-free R134a refrigerant in place of the old R12. However, I expect all older models would have been converted to R134a by now. If yours hasn't been converted you'd need to do so. To my knowledge you can't get R12 any more.

nope, no special couplings, they are just the same as all other cars are and they take R134a gas like all modern cars do now, some older cars would still have R12 gas, but its illegal now because its an ozone depleting substance, id be checking the couplings on your A/C service machine and the schrader valves in the A/C service ports on your car, or perhaps the taps wernt secure/tightened properly when you had the machine connected

yes it is, my EBII also had that and took R134a, didnt have an stickers indicating that a R134a system had been retrofitted, and it was my families car since new
