Engine cuts out @ higher rpm

Hi Guys,

Did a search, couldn't find anything. Just whacked a reasonable fesh EL ticky motor into my daily EF. Runs beautifully, except last night I opened her up a little and she cut out on me. Couldn't start it, then after two minutes it started as per normal. Anyone had anything like this? Possible causes to look into?

Cheers
Steve

Update: Now it does it all the time, Revving in the driveway it doesn;t skip a beat, but as soon as I drive down my street it starts spluttering and cuts out. Again if I wait two minutes it'll start back up again. I swapped to another set of coil packs I had lying around, didn't help :(

Check the sensor that sits where the distributor would usually be... Might be unplugged/timing not set right...

All plugged up sweet, crank angle sensor is connected properly as well. Timing is spot on

ECU/FP relay? Loom get pinched when you dropped the motor in?

Fuel starvation I reckon - how are the fuel lines? Connected the right way around?

Lol yes it was fuel starvation, caused by a dodgey fuel gauge. I'll let you fill in the rest :P LOL

Lol that's awesome! When I chucked fuel into it I went for a drive around the block, was relieved that it drove perfectly, but also secretly hoping it would stall so I wouldn't feel like such a Jackass lol
