"Mod Day" Sunday?

Postby Sunboost » January 21st, 2008, 11:00 am

Hey Guys,

I think it may finally be time to drop the ED 4.0L I have sitting in my garage in to TUFPAK. It over heated on Saturday night - with the gauge so convincinly in the red section that a warning light I wasn't sure existed on EA's came on. It was intense but I kept driving.

Anywho I topped up the water and was driving it again yesterday when the gauge went right over again but no light came on I kept driving again (ftw). Got home and it put on a steam and waterworks show like I haven't seen before. The bra was on and I cbf pulling it off to see what dropped it's guts but I reckon it's time for the motor to come out.

Anyone want to help on Sunday?

Prob not looking for too many people... 3 max? Will pay with BBQ and drinks I guess.

Agenda..

1. Pull motor
2. Clean engine bay up
3. Transfer gearbox etc. to new motor
4. Install motor

I think that's a good day's work - not much more. Cleaning will be the most time consuming as it's fairly ratty.

Lol sick sick. I'll let you know if I go ahead with it now this weekend.

I ripped the bra off yesterday and found it was the lower radiator hose that had busted it's guts. I had the new one off your old PAO machine sitting in the garage so fitted it up and filled it with water and drove it to gym. Worked well :D

The lifter tick, slowness, pulley squeal and constant coolant leaks from this motor are giving me the shts. I reckon that I will prob change it on Sunday. I have nothing better to do after Saturday.

Engine transplant was done, there were some problems following that but it's been sorted out, Sunny's made another thread about it here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2304
