Just curious to know if any of you guys with boosted Eseries have ever been pulled up and had a cop go over your car?
I intend to go boost soonish, I'll be on my full licence when It's finished.
What kinds of trouble can you get in?

I got pulled over and inspected twice and the cops didnt open the bonnet.
Let off both times with being told my car was too low and to fix asap.

When I had my POS running around the streets, all the cops I noticed would stare at the region where the intercooler was hanging out for a bit, looking a little confused, and then they'd just continue on their way with seemingly better things to do.

Did you lie and they believed you, or did you tell the truth and they didn't care?

Does anyone know someone with a turbo AU?
If so I think this person has figured out the answer to boosted falcon police issues(*).
(*) The other morning coming out of my street this AU went flying past 100km/h+++ with a Territory cop car following, then 30 secs later 4 more cop cars. They were patrolling my area for ages afterwards, I think he lost them!

I got pulled over for blazing the tyres past a bus in my EBXR6T (after repeated fkwit manouvers by another driver, I was planning on catching up to said driver and dragging him out of his car through the window and flogging him near to death) anyway, got pulled over and got done for "failure to pay due car and attention" **- the cop walked around the car, had a look at the tyres, and then gave me a notice to appear in court, didn't GAF about the car.
I also used to have the number plate offset, got pulled over, the cop had a super-close look at the front of the car (I was thinking "great, I'm FUCT now!") and he just checked my licence and told me to move my plate when I got home.
I think I've just been lucky, or maybe cops are busy looking for imports to screw over, I dunno.
**I was actually not impressed with the 'failure to pay due care' ticket - It was a brilliant manouver - I was stopped behind a bus in the left lane when said wanker went past me, so I popped the clutch in first and flat shifted second, blazed the tyres from stationary in the left lane, into the right lane, sideways down the entire length of the bus and back into the left lane so I could get up beside wankerman, it would have looked awesome

Failure to pay due care my ass!

I've been pulled over on multiple occasions in the green car by general duties officers - no TOG officers.
I'm prob going to bring the EA out on Saturday. I pray I don't get busted, I don't hv the time to fk with it anymore :'(

Your BOV has it's own atmosphere? WOW! I must be a big BOV...
I've never had any trouble whatsoever in my car, it looks like a stock EA except for superlows, bonnet vents and a tiny little cooler in front. Nobody (not even the cops) cares or even looks twice at it. I like it.

lol... i reckon thats pretty close to showing "due care" i mean... its not like ya nailed the bus... or another car. It should just be ur choice in how u choose to pass that bus

. Im sick of cops following me after they see me come out of a carpark where sum 1 has reported sum 1 doin burnouts.. or security following me and shouting stuff at me merely coz my car was sideways around a roundabout, whats up with that? lol

I got busted at the Springnats.....my options were to pull the turbo setup off or spend thousands getting the whole lot engineered. I pulled it off.

I think it also depends on how you drive and how much attention you attract. If you have spent time at the cop station then they will most likely keep picking on you. If you drive sensibly and fit in with the rest of the cars on the roads then your chances are lower. Thats my opinion anywayz.

Don't you hate it when everyone slows down on the freeway when they see a cop. It shits me. I just continue on at the alloted speed and never have a problem. There are stupid people everywhere.
Just thought I'd put that out there... as you were!

I usually slow down when i see a cop on the street, but then again, I'm nearly always going a little too fast for johnny law.

same with me. I have been pulled over once for a random breath test and the cop didnt evne look twice at the car. E-series turbos ftmfw.
I think its just easier for them to pull over imports or commodores with rims to defect.

So what are the laws on boosted cars? I've never heard of anyone in Canberra being booked for being boosted. I know turbo/v8's are no go for P-platers, but is it no aftermarket turbo setups at all now?

Ok, I'm not too sure what you guys are know already, so I'll give a general run-down.
Turbo cars are not illegal (except for P platers post July 2007)or are automatically going to get a defect.
The intercoolers are ok, as long as they are not causing sharp protrusions.
Blow off valves are an EPA issue, they get put on the defect notice to be removed only. Dosing (now I'm no mechanic so I'm going on what I am told) damages your turbo and so we really don't care.
We have been told by the EPA that if a car has a blow of valve and a pod filter, then report them to EPA. If they have only one or the other, then they don't care.
The van may or may not have ex-TOG or members wanting to be TOG, so it's just a gamble. You can try to bluff them (lie), but be prepared to cop it if the coppers call your bluff and actually know what they are talking about.
If anyone has specific questions, I'm more than happy to answer.

Actually the EPA will want to see your car if you have both a POD + FMIC. Thats the one intake mod rule.
Their only concerned about BOV's if they vent to the atmosphere.
Also if you get pinged in Vic driving a boosted e-series you will most likely get sent to the EPA, who will fail you as none of the turbo gear meets ADR emmisions requirements. That means returning the car to standard to pass EPA, is unless you spend big $$$ to document/engineer your steup.
