Its a rubber dampner and because the kid drops the clutch every chance he gets it puts alot of strain on the part and eventually it dies

We had one of the black manifold 190kw motors come into work which spun the big end and the kid flogged the **** out of it. Only had done 110,000kms too. Finding a motor for one of them was **** as, apparently there are 5-6 different types of 190kw motors.

Yeah. Weve had a vz ss 6.0 spin a big end. Caught ut early so replaced it.
But yeah had a vz 190 not get serviced for 70k and he needed another motor. Took 6 weeks to track a motor down

My mates vz engine threw a big end bearing 5000Kms after a service, 70,000 Kms old. The car burns almost a liter of oil every 1000kms. More oil than my 400,000 km Ef that I flog the **** out of for the last 140,000 kms cos I hardly care what happens to it... It loved it haha

Its all over from there. Just poorly engineered motors. Captivas are the same

Actually I lied when I said my mate did a big end bearing, his engine had a bad rattle at first and some dodgy mechanic said it was a big end bearing. As my mate drove it home the engine completely fucked up, apparently the chain jumped one or two teeth and fucked up and the left bank. Apparently caused by low oil pressure, something like the tensioner relies on oil pressure to work? Lol... Stupid idea.

Its good to hear about the other team having problems for once

Kind of depressing when most of what you read about here is issues.

The rubber couplings aren't too bad... they flog out with bad alignment, and some tailshafts are badly aligned from the factory... believe it or not! rubber couplings are designed to run straight, and not have any angle on them like a uni can take.

I work at holden and i find it amazing that VE's can come in and need new engines or rebuilds. Like these cars are new! The head didnt have to come off my falcon until i hit 200k

Its because the newer cars have smaller clearances and when they clog up with old oil from mot being serviced its all over. Like rollins pic.
These new cars arnt like the old 202 that you could run out oil and seize, fill it back up and off it goes.
People these days neglect their cars because their service costs 300+
Then they have a sook cos they need to pay 10k for another engine.
Your own fault

Digging up an old thread, but whats wrong with that??
To add to the problems my mates VZ ute has had since my last post in this thread, the rear suspension cradle needed replacing because as he was doing 110 down the high way, a wheel fell in some how but not off... he pulled over and something had snapped and caused damage to something else in the cradle... apparently some brackets got welded back together though
Next thing that happened, he was doing a reverse park on a hill, put the car in reverse and let the clutch out... some how the tail shaft just tore right through and fell on the ground... i was in the car when it happened and it wasn't a clutch dump or anything, he does do a lot of burnouts any other time though...

what do people expect if they don't service cars. if you can't maintain a new car don't own one.

I can't see people posting up every time they drive and have no issues. Otherwise I'd have 11ty thousand rivetting posts of "Redlined the EL into second, third and fourth several times again today. Nothing broke."
