IIRC, some EDs (V8's?) had the dual diaphragm booster opposed to the single standard one.
EB/ED XR6 and V8s got the duel diaphragm booster. You can easily pick it by it's ribbed surface. It's definitely an improvement over standard (although my standard was full of rust, so that probably didn't help much
