Yeha stupid subject statement but anyway.
Issue is i need new tyres for my car and i went to a local tyre joint friday for some tyres and anyway the bloke there had some 245-18's there and i was going to buy them till i found out my tyres on the car are 225-18's and theres not enough clearance. Went to another place and bought 2 235's for the rear. Today i was told i coulda put the 245's on the rear and 235's on the front , what your opinion ?

Why do you say theres not enough clearance? 245's would of went on fine.

there is guys running 265 18's on cars that are sitting on bump stops

245's would be like a hotdog in a hallway

It really depends on the offset of your wheels. wrong offset 215's will hit !

So your guy could have been right, have to see it all first.

as above, depends on offset, and also the profile.

typically 235/40/18 are the normal size for the front.
same would apply to the rear, but you've got a bit of leeway, i was running 265/35/18's on the rear of mine, they scrubbed but the wheels were sitting out a fair bit.
