ef falcon help

I got a EF Falcon. Just the stock old 4.0L engine. I was just wondering if anyone can help me with my problem.
When i drive the car nice and normally, its fine but when I try and overtake or try give it a boot, it just tries to get the energy to move, ive changed spark plugs, leads, fuel filter, but was thinking maybe its a air / vaccum leak? i got a hole near the cat converter but that shouldnt matter should it?
What do people recommend i do?
