New tech inclusions, a minor styling facelift and price cuts of up to $3000 for the go-fast Falcon range.

Ford Performance Vehicles has announced a full-scale update of its current range.

Just a day after Ford announced its plans for the four-cylinder EcoBoost Falcon, the Blue Oval brand announced some models in its high-performance FPV range will also aim to save drivers fuel with a new satnav system that can calculate the most efficient route.

The system, available on the luxury-focused GT-E, GT-P and F6-E models, is controlled via an 8.0-inch colour touch-screen, and includes traffic updates as well as acting as a controller for audio and USB connections. The touch-screen is also available on the rest of the range, but without the satnav function.

The screen also acts a monitor for the newly added rear-view camera for GT-P, GT, F6 and GS models (GT-E and F6-E were already fitted with rear-view cameras as standard), while the GS sedan also gains rear parking sensors. All FPVs also get floor mats as standard.

In terms of styling, the entry-level GS has received the most attention, with a new-look front fascia with a more aggressive design and projector headlights with a new blacked-out look. Both the F6 and GS ute models gain a sports bar as standard, while the F6 models add newly designed wheels.

The FPV range is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 producing 315kW/545Nm (GS) or 335kW/575Nm (GT, GT-E, GT-P), while the F6 models use a 4.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing 310kW/560Nm. Automatic transmission is a no-cost option for GT and GT-P models.

The 2012 FPV range:

GS ute $52,990
GS sedan $57,990
F6 Ute $55,990 ($3000 cheaper)
F6 $64,890 ($3000 cheaper)
GT $71,290
F6-E $76,940 ($3100 cheaper)
GT-P $82,540 ($1000 more)
GT-E $82,990 ($450 more)

About the same as the update between BF and BF Mk2, even though it should be something more like the difference between BA and BF :/
