hey all i got a new ride a 1990 3.9 ea fairmont ghia 5 speed manual which im putting my redback exhaust system on, but i want to know if i can put a eb xr6 head with stage two crow cam on to it and if so what else do i need like a fuel reg or ecu or can i remap my one. i need help lol

you can swap the head and cam over no worries, using the standard reg etc will be fine.
to make the most out of it you'll probably want to get a tune.

for that you'd possibly want to look at something along the lines of an EL ECU + J3 chip. (to enable tuning, make it manual, and disable smartlock in the ECU)

J3 with a custom tune, is $190 from TI Performance (thats a custom tune based on information you send them)
ECU should be able to get for about $50 i imagine.

thanks mate, so with making it manual and disabling the smartlock, i should be able to find stuff on here about it.

The J3 chip has the ability to convert the ECU to Manual, and bypass Smartlock.

However, as i mentioned, the ECU side of things is completely optional.

The car should run ok with the standard ECU, you just won't get the most out of it.

well i mays well do it coz i want to get some new injectors aswell, and if i do the ecu it will go hard plus might be a lil bit better on fuel i hope lol.

i have a spare 4 eb motor that i can put the head on would that be better?
