The AU corner

Postby Intercepted_AU » December 13th, 2011, 12:13 pm

Falling asleep at work so I took a photo of the ''AU corner of the carpark'', went on boostedfalcon as you do. One way to kill the rest of the afternoon!

Ha ha what's your job. Looking good anyway. If I ever needed another front bar, I would definitely look at an xr50.

I've never been a fan of AU's (despite going and buying one!) but they are growing on me.

Maybe we need an ASOC?? :P :rotfl:

Must every post about the AU be trolled beyond recognition. You'd cop less flak posting a picture of a Hyundai XL and asking oppinions ;)

Regarding members cars as ugly on a forum specifically promoting regional Ford/Falcon interest isn't relevant. It's obnxious.

Unless it's for chuckles, giggles or hehe's.

2 good things about the AU.
The engine/suspension/steering wheel fits e-series, and it made Ford pull their finger out to build the BA.

I've been campaigning this for years!! So much that I am now onto my fourth! Just cos some people don't agree with the looks, you are missing out on the best handling Falcon (pre-FG) and most comfortable, best looking interior.

They're nice to drive, but the interior is polarizing. A lot don't like it some do. Funnily enough I do like AU XR's (series 2 & 3). The t-series are up and above the AU, they don't count. I don't like the front of the AU's apart from XR.

But we all love having someone or something to bag out. The AU is this

T2 T-Series were the best looking AU's. T3's looked good at the start but the design has started looking a bit cheap with age.

couldnt agree more alex, i think yours and dean's look great. zac told me you got your walls re-done, look great..thick as!

im not a huge fan of the overly-rounded front ends, like on that yellow/gold whatever XR.

and its definately true about the handling, a friends old ba xr6 handle'd no where near as good as my au does. another mates got a ba xr6 ute, that seems to handle about the same.

then again mines lowered, and who knows how they have done it..

this is another nice example of a well done (non xr) AU, lives right around the corner from me,

Image

in all honesty though, when i bought my au, i was planning to sell my wagon, and mainly got mine (which was a steal) because it looked half new still.

but after time it grew on me.. i like alot of people was iffy on the front end (everyone loves the au ass right??) but damn it grew on me. love it now.

Lol!!

Hardly any AU's look good. The ones above go alright though.

Utes look better, at least the rear half isn't horrible.

T series kits stopped being cool 6 years ago.

I like the AU interiors. Series 1 was horrible but series 2 base spec is way better than e series base spec. AU ghia owns all e series too.

I'd get another if I wanted a $2000 ford for some reason.

AU IRS is double wishbone, dual rear diff mounts, single front. It is a good setup.
