lol flange.

That sucks John. Do you have a custom tailshaft ? If not why not upgrade to a EBII/ED diff.

I had a 3.27LSD from a 6 in my old EB 5L with all that engine work and sht. Worked well enough for me!

nah not a custom tail shaft, i'd imagine any 4 speed wagon tail shaft would work.
but the tail shaft that i got was only just put in :P

yep... leaf springs :/
are there any options that don't involve removing the whole diff? :P
changing the centre? :P

Usually its just the pinion shaft that snaps in the 2pin's. You might be able to swap it assuming it hasn't munched out all the gears etc.

But changing the whole centre- not unless your an expert at setting preload etc.

Swapping the entire diff is easier than doing the centre as mentioned ;)

yeah drives fine.
the spragg clutch is gone in the trans - but it drives well.
the fluid still need a slight touch up but its a lot better.
pretty much everything works..

only minor things need to be done, i've driven it around lately without hassle.

because its an EA DIFF!!
EB/ED diff would be better.
i might upgrade to a different one, just have to make sure i get the right tail shaft.

oh.. and it completely failed on the way home.
Kristy towed me home :)

probably all that dead weight in teh back of it over time... :P

buggar about the diff, but upgrade it should be. I am pretty sure all wagon tailshafts are the same. I have a near new alloy one you could have, just pay for freight, (which prolly wouldnt be much).

John what about an EF diff?
I know you have to mess around with handbrake.

Jollys have a couple of wagons

i'd rather an EB/ED diff, just makes life easier.

the only reason i was concerned about the tail shaft is that the original one that was in the car didnt fit wtih the V8 and Auto.
it was too long.
but i'd imagine any 4 speed auto wagon tail shaft would be fine.
which would be a majority of them!>

do you know how much the wreckers want for a tailshaft? I dont think fastway couriers are that expensive, and as i said, you can HAVE the one i have lying at my place. FREE!!!

I think the rear flange is missing i think, but the uni is there.... :(

I can understand OED keeping his shaft seperate from the rear flange, packaging is far easier this way, and less messy. Getting it there for $25 is a fair effort!

As long as your shaft couples with the box without a problem, that's all that matters.

And frankly I'm not surprised the power through your shaft blew the rear flange, Kristy's said you do drive it pretty hard
