Peter Brock Fairlane.

So I've been searching online for hours for any information on the Peter Brock Fairlane. Found a little on the Falcons and Fairmonts.

I was with Mum's partner, helping him move out of his old joint and saw he had a couple of cars under covers there. One was an old Morris and the other was an NA Fairlane. Looked closer at it, it's a Brocky! He didn't have a key for it so I couldn't look inside it or open the bonnet. I'm gonna ring Ford tomorrow and see if they can get any information for me. I'll get the VIN and engine number next week too.

I got some photos of it, I'll attach them to this post. He said that it had electronic self levelling suspension, the springs were colour coded to the car and had Brocky tags on them, Brocky's signature on the glovebox and chassis and as far as he can remember it was build number 20. It's got a two tone paint job, two different shades of maroon.

It hasn't been looked after too well, needs heaps of work done to it, but I want to buy it off him and do it slowly.

I saw a two-tone blue one of these getting around Sale a few months back, had to do a double take when I first saw it. Even though you said this hasn't been looked after very well, it still seems to be looked after better than your typical NA :P

Be interesting to see what he lets it go for, if he does..

His daughter and I won't let him sell it… unless it's to me.

He's had it since 75,000kms, second owner.

Doesn't look too bad from the pics aside from being dirty and having sagged springs. Would definitely make a neat restoration project.

Haha I wish!

He said the driver's door is fucked, got broken into and they flogged the CD player, but they completely bent the door in half.

The door itself would be dirt cheap, hope the trim wasn't damaged though.

Don't think there were even 20 of them made. I have an article on them here somewhere.

Hey what build # is it? This might be of interest to you...

Image Not sure if the image link is working but you can see it here if not: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151183203888828&l=3a0011196d

Also this is a website I dug up and put back online, with a new version being launched over the next week or two..

http://www.templemantwells.com.au/brock-fords/

I have a very similar one and have been trying to work out if it is the car in the competition. Mine is #16 and was finished in April 1990. I'm currently restoring it to the specifications of the one in the magazine article (because mine is already pretty close to it) but I have had nothing concrete to say if it is or isn't the one featured.

As for the number made, there is one shown on Flickr which is #22 http://www.flickriver.com/photos/50415738@N04/6058594332/

For the record, just launched a website yesterday which is based on the old Brock Fords website (went down in 2009). Aims to keep track of where the Brock Fords are and to become a useful resource for anyone wanting to restore or repair them.

http://www.brockfords.com.au

Check it out and if you can help with any information please feel free to PM me here or join the forums there and share :)
