Postby glenneaux » February 2nd, 2008, 9:17 am

heres a hot tip for everyone

dont tell work you'll be in at 7am on saturday (normally not at all) after a 21st on a cruise around the bay....

fark... for some reason didnt wake up at 6am like i shouldve, then my phone was on silent. im in charge of keeping 2 guys on routers running, making sure they've got jobs to do and shit...

woke up at 8:30am 3 missed calls from work.. tried ringing my supervisor but turns out he was busy in the paintshop so i just come to work 2 hours late, one of the guys ran out of work and left (after calling me, which i feel bad about cause he's like 49, good bloke and because of me he came in on a saturday for an hour) and when i walk in the other guy was ready to leave because he also ran out of shit to do...

bullshit thing is i didnt have to be here, all they needed was a password to turn the computer on so they could access the hard disk from the other computers...

farken, **** act!!!

ps. when i went out last night i said i wasnt gonna get blind.... well... i got blind :( lol

I hear ya man,

Early last year i had to be at a job on the coast at 5am in the morning to do some repairs on a compactor powerpack before the power was turned back on, i didn't end up waking up till about 7 and its just over an hours drive to the gold coast from my place.

Alot of people were pissed off

Haha, I went out one night and said I wasn't gonna get pissed. Long story short I stopped drinking at around 2am, blew .247 on the breatho at 3:30am and walked home. Got home at 4:00, slept till my alarm went off at 4:15, drove 45 minutes to work (one side of the city to the other at the time, I have no recollection whatsoever of the drive). Got to work, worked blind drunk for 6 hours, and then the last two hours I started getting my hangover... it was hell on earth considering I was labouring in a factory on a mid 30's degree day at the time. Never again.

Or so I thought.

Did the same thing to start with, but stayed out a little later, consumed copious amounts of alcohol, and went to bed at 5 maggoted. Went to work at 7 and because the boss was unlicenced he thought it was better that I drive to warehouse to get stock, even though I was probably (far far) over the limit going on the fact I couldn't stand up and he had to prop me up in the van. I wasn't allowed into the warehouse due to qualification issues, so he left me in a park where I promptly passed out on a bench in broad daylight, on a tuesday morning! I woke to find two bums poking me with their can collecting stick things, and their german sheppard chewing on my hoodie. They pissed off quick smart and I turned around and barfed quite a few times on the ground next to me, checked the time and it was 9am. It sucked, alot.

That's gold!

Good to see no one has flamed you about this whole story... everyone's so much cooler here than feckin' fordmods. Those people ignore the story all together and just look for a reason to fire up at you.

bahahaha! Top post!

One time back when I was working at Coles I arrived at work still shitfaced from the night before. I nearly broke my fingers when I completely missed the pumpkin with my machete - thank **** I had the forethought to put the chain glove on! And god damn the deli girls looked hot that morning too for some reason :?

The advantage of working in produce was I could curl up in the coolroom like a cut emo. The downside to coolrooms is the air is thick as fark if there's an odour... Especially if it's an odour you make in there while druuuuuunk

Best thing about when i was working as a lifeguard is the oxygen cylinder. i used to work sundays and we had a roster between the 3 of us that worked: 1 week sober, 2 weeks hungover. Oxygen for 5-10mins keeps you going for bout an hour though. We used to rotate in-and-out of the first aid room.

I know! There's only one bar that does it though... and only thursdays... BUT STILL! Everywhere else they're like $11 or something.
Last weekend my friend and I got free ones because we grabbed security when this dude was about to get gang bashed. Not bad.

Put on a brave face, get to work 2min early (or just sleep in the first aid room over night) and hit the O2 as soon as you walk in the door before saying hi to the boss. I wont name the pool i work at but we have dramatically lifted our standards to this level :D
