I've seen a 1JZ into an XF ute. Don't know of any RB powered Falcons though.

a guy in brisbane has a 1j in an eb. he wanted to race me for my plates. I asked what mods, and he joked around with his mate, so i declined and i then over-heard he had a 1j in it. i'll find him soon enough, and a turbo 4L > any 1j... (hehe)

yeh I've heared of a 1jz falcon, never a 2jz though... it'd be an absolute bitch of an install i guess, much cheaper just to buy an r33 or supra........

i ask because I've always had a thing for the RB engines for whatever reason but don't like the fact you see so many ricered skylines around... love my ea, thought of putting an rb in WAY down the track, just a thought though that will probably never happen..

i was about to say the same, that its about half the falcon's engine capacity and couldn't power it, but then i looked up the weight of a wrx and they weigh in the 1400 kgs, the ea is around 1400 also, so maybe it could.. plus the wrx puts out over 200kw and my ea s prolly only gets 100kw with its age.. so yeh aha i'd like to see it. i'd love running a worked rb25det through my ea though.... aha maybe when i get rich..........................

There's a dude with a 1UZ in one I think, and I've seen pics of 1JZ falcon too, not sure where it was from though. I don't think I've seen any RB motors in a falcon though, not EA onwards anyways.

i dont really see the point of going a 1UZ (thats the toyota v8 right? i think so from memory..) since the v8 in fords has always been worked since the muscle car days.. but hey, whatever pleases the individual..

1jz would've been from a mark IV supra i rekon.. Used to be into all the ricer rides even though i'm a 6'4 aussie, then got sick of the 'fully sik' stereotype (stereotype or truth?) they all have, so bought the falcon and haven't looked back..

and yeh as far as engines go i think that the JZ is better than the RB regarding stock and modded kw abilities - supra with the 1 or 2jz came DEtuned from the factory.

If I were to get a jap car I'd be going RB25det into a cefiro or 1jzgte into a mx83 cressida....... both were potentials but the amount of work required to get them going, and money, and my limited knowledge, would mean too much of a headache... sorry for the life story. go the e series.

actually im wrong 1jz couldnt be from markIV supra since they used 2jz, would've been from an imported mark III supra or chaser or crown. not domestic one they got 7mge engine..

The 1UZ is a good motor, but in N/A form it is pretty much at it's peak. Cams are baby cams, but replacements are not cheap, a stroker package is upwards of 4k for the bottom end alone (custom crank req, there's no kits) and they're already running a reasonably high comp I believe. That said, they do respond to boost far better than the equivalent Windsor, and the bottom ends are very strong (6 bolt mains?). There are aftermarket billet blocks available in the US for nutcases, but they're costly and are *from what I've read* only needed over 1300hp anyway.

The only time you should think about ditching the 4 litre for another inline 6 is when you have another 4litre ready to go in - with aftermarket rods and pistons of course.

agreed re subie vs falcon torque, agreed with WTF re the subie engine in the falcon, however it brought up somehting to discuss.......

WRX puts out over 200kw? Certainly not stock, try 155kw for a 93-99, and 160Kw for an 00-06. STi's are a different story, but they aren't cheap motors.

A BA motor would be a lot easier, and not many people have even done that...

Once these atomic cam gears are released the BA conversion will be a common mod.

There is nothing difficult about fitting it and getting it to run. Getting it to run and make the power is should without the standard ECU controlling the cams is a different story though.

I started a thread like this on AFF a few months back for a few laughs.
RB20/25 = Good in inports, not good in falcons

WRX motor in an e-series... are you drunk?

I might use one as a starter motor but that's about it!

Thats the thing man...they really couldn't. IIRC most/all were supplied as autos, and they were slow as fcuck but at the same time used shedloads of fuel.
