Pro Manufactured Wide Steelies / Interceptors?

When is a wheel manufacturing company going come out with some wheels that look just like stock Commodore or Falcon wheels in different sizes? Or do they already?
I see so many Commodores and Falcons getting around in stockies these days, even guys who I’ve previously seen with nice alloys, so it’s not cos they can’t afford a nice set of alloys. I reckon they look alright, I'd buy a set of say 17 x 8 inch ones. I know some people get them widened out to 8 inch or more, but I’d rather have them professionally manufactored rather than buying an old set from the wreckers or something and modifying them, plus it still costs a bit to get them widened anyway.

Depending on what you drive just get the spares as Wombi mentioned and adjust the offset if need be.

Dodge is a close offset to AU+, not too sure about the hub centre tho.

I've got an EF, just not sure about how legal it is to widen or change the offset on wheels?
What does it mean by "no more than one peripheral weld" in the VicRoads requirements?

Cheers.

it means one cut in the rim, and one weld.

so you cant cut the rim in half and just weld a 2 inch band in to widen it, thats two welds.

cut in half and add a complete outer or inner to get the desired width. one weld.

So turning the wheel in a lathe to remove the welds and reweld the inner at a different offset is all good or classed as 4 or so welds?

I dont think moving the centre would be classed as an peripheral (outer edge/limit) weld

Ah.
I didn't look up peripheral in the dictionary...
Makes sense now.

So what they do at Ajax Wheels would comply with the standards and be legal? They machine out the inner and replace the outer with a brand new 8" steel band, 4 inch backspace (zero offset) for an EF Falcon.

Also is it legal to have different width rims from front to back of your car and or different tyre widths etc?

Cant say re legality.

I guess that as long as whatever you have is within the allowed limits for the model according to the tyre placard then its all good. I don't think staggered sizes matter as long as each end is within the limits.

Someone on here will know the exact limits, but I think its 2in in diameter in Vic not sure about width.

Its all a bit pointless as if you get the wrong cop they will just canary you anyway- its up to you to prove its legal.

Cool, thanks.

What sized steelies and tyres have you got on TUFED6?

They're territory 17x7.5 on the front (same width, just different offset), 17x10 on the back.

Note that you wont be able to get exactly the right offset on the front as the wheel bands themselves are stepped. Eg. the part that the centre is welded to isn't the same diameter all the way out to the edge of the rim. If you have a look at one you'll see what I'm talking about.

Tyres are 245 on the front and 275 on the back.
