C6 is an auto.
T56 would be good but its pricey. The T5 wont like being behind a boosted windsor.

I think a conversion from mal wood is $8k ish.
A tko 5 speed is just as strong and would be around $5500.

Yep 8k for all required - then you've still gotta put the bastard in!

I'd go the auto too, esp. if you're thinking of going turbo.
If you want to sell your car one day and make anywhere near what you paid for it, DON'T BUY A FALCON!!! Get a VW Golf Turbo Diesel.

I beg to differ, you will have less drive trainloss with a t56 making it go quicker. You will also use less fuel.
Also it will stop you quicker if you compression lockup on down change

as for resale value comments, i put the 20's on to make car look good when im cruisin, resprayed to make car look good while cruisin, big brakes to make car look good and stop good, spending 8g's on an extra pedal and the choice of manually selecting an extra 2 gears wont make car look any better, wont make car go any better, wont make car stop any better. yeah should spend double what i paid for the car on something that will do very little. See where im coming from AMIGO!
My $0.02, if your serious about making power with the turbo setup you will probably need to upgrade the trans anyway. T5 isn't going to take much abuse and the BTR will definitely need all the good shit inside if its going to last.

Hostility? I wasn't asking why would you spend money on go fasts bits..it was rhetorical . I think it has been comprehended incorrectly.
My point was we all do so much more than the car is worth and none of it will be recouped if sold.....My response was to your comment about the T56 conversion and it not getting any money back...It doesn't take a genius to realise big power needs a strong box . Also the conversion can be done half as much as you preach .....You won't get far with a TT V8

"Gears are for going, brakes are for slowing". If you need to compression lock to slow down, get some bigger rear brakes. Compression locking kills clutches, the only good thing about it is when drifting (actual drifting, not getting sideways leaving a corner).
CMYWPN - Does the BTR have kevlar bands etc like a worked XR6T box? If it's built properly it'll handle 600rwhp for a decent length of time.
BTR's are a great box on paper, the biggest 2 problems are BTR's (total lack of) quality control, so you get some great boxes, and some utter dogs. The other problem is Ford's 'attempt' at tuning the TCU.
Oh, and the biggest trans cooler available will help too. BTR = Burns The Road

I would ask why the bush slipped. There are a LOT of BTR's that are taking more power, and (I presume) more of a thrashing, and they don't have slipping bush problems. The only way I can see the bush slipping (if it did) is from faulty workmanship, which is the workshops problem.
If the bush didn't slip, then the C3 clutch drum wouldn't need replacing, and the band wouldn't need replacing.
If all else fails, give the ACCC a call and see what they suggest from there.

That sucks mate but really, what can you do? Your gonna have to pay it I guess. Still, $550 is better than spending 8k on a new box.
