Calling the Boosted community spirit!

Want to hear a funny story?

I came to Canberra because the kids were sick and my wife needed a hand with them. Cool, about $500 worth of last min flights :? . I help out about the house and take the kids to the Dr's and get them better which is nice. I then fall sick with a painful upper respiratory infection. On Sunday I cant function anymore and admit defeat by going to the hospital. They gave me pain relief and fluids and I generally felt so much better. Just before I was due to go home they did an ECG on my heart (its a quick standard test much like a xray). This is where the fun starts.

All of a sudden 5 Dr's pitch up looking at my ECG print out and start asking me questions like "has anyone in your family ever had a unexplainable sudden death?"
My response....WTF? No.

I was then told I was not going home. The Dr's sat down and then explained that my ECG shows the pattern of a rare hereditary condition called Brugada Syndrome.

This is the first sentence from wiki
The Brugada syndrome is a genetic disease that is characterised by abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) findings and an increased risk of sudden cardiac death.

Dont really need to keep reading past that.....

Anywho, After a few days in the Cardiac ward I am finally home but still have 2-3 confirming tests due for this thurs/fri. If it is confirmed I just earnt myself a Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator in my chest.

Sorry for the long sob story but I am looking for some Boosted community spirit and am wondering if anyone can help finish putting my wagon back together. Here is a list of things to do.

Machine rotors, rebuild/clean front calipers, put stock brake lines back on and bleed, wheel alignment and camber adjustment, put front panels back on, check spark plugs, maybe new set of leads.

I'm happy cover costs for consumables and stuff and probably a carton of ale as well.

Can anyone help?

Here is a pic of a hot chick.

Thanks fellas,

Sorry about the all over the place story, I am still not 100% and with a few scary tests to go I think ill focus on a few well earnt beers at the end of it all.

The car is in Laverton, it would need to be put onto a trailer/truck as the twin piston calipers are hanging with a few pads in between just so the rear brakes stop the car (only used to move on the front lawn)

Sorry to hear about the health woes mate.

My advice would be to organise yourself well, ie allocate particular jobs to particular people. There's a lot of generosity on the board but the key is organising time and manpower.

Yeah I don't expect 1 person to do everything,

Its also difficult as I am in the ACT and the car is in Melb. I may have found a few people to lend a hand but Ill keep it posted here as well.

Thanks

sorry to hear about your health issues mate. keep your chin up n all that shit, get the tests done and go from there.
i think there's a few of us on here that have health issues that change the way we approach life in general, and it certainly makes a huge difference knowing people that are willing to help out with various shit here and there, even if its something small.

if the car was on the east side i'd be happy to help out if i would be of any use, but being on the other side of the city i'd probly end up making a promise i couldn't keep due to my own problems!

nice choice of rack for the token hot chick lol, +1 for skipping straight to the bottom first.

hope you sort your shit out and that your able to get healthy again mate.

so the rear brakes stop the car

Challenge accepted.

I'd be happy to lend a hand, all sounds like basic stuff.

Sheesh didn't expect to read that :(
Can't even imagine how much shock you'd be in, not something you expect to be told in life or certainly not this early on.

Our car accident earlier this year was my bit of a shock and makes you re-think and appreciate life!

As for the car, afraid I'm not much help but if your willing to put a BBQ/mod day on somewhere I'll be happy to play chef and taxi people to Laverton. Otherwise there's quite alot of members in the SE suburbs - if they can help then may be worth getting the car down here?

I'll do your panel work for you, because I'm a shitcunt with brakes and suspension, unless it's changing springs over.
