Thinking of snapping this one up

Postby Brendanssound » August 28th, 2012, 2:57 pm

Hey guys,

Looking around for an ED in QLD for sale, Managed to find one for around 1400$
with rego and rwc

Problem is (and im being very picky here) its 1993 and not a fairmont,
pretty sure they only come with drivers side power windows? right?

How easy is it to get power windows for passenger side? how flexible is
interior changes? (can i put fairmont stuff in it?) will leather seats bolt
right in?

Gonna pick it up tomorrow if its as good as it sounds

so if its not a fairmont, its a GLi or Futura?

if thats the case, then they have no power windows at all.

you can install all the fairmont stuff if you want, its pretty much bolt in.
power windows are a little more effort, but still doable.

just consider if the $1400 + what ever $$ you put into it getting it to fairmont spec is worth it.

obviously RWC and Rego are handy.

GLi, sorry should have mentioned that. No pics of interior.. very annoying.

At the end of the day my plan is to have a car i can slowly customize to how i would want it
(on a get paid/can afford to add to it) kind of basis if that makes much sense at all?

Getting something without a roady or rego is sorta easier but really don't have the time or
funds to buy something and find out it needs some work.

Anything else i should know/some buying tips would be handy. I know where to look when
it comes to X series but this will be my first eseries.

Nothing has power windows on just the drivers side? No sure where you heard that or why anything would have it like that.
EF EL have front power windows on mid series, but not side specific
