Tunnel closures cause traffic chaos!

Postby ClassicAU » October 3rd, 2012, 10:26 am

So who else was unfortunate enough to experience this morning’s traffic madness! The one time I have the work car and have to bring it back this morning, was the day that all hell broke loose! Reports are saying an IT glitch (always blame this IT department!! :( ) cause loss of control of the overhead lane and speed signs, so both the Burnley and Domain tunnels were closed for safety reasons! Took me an extra 45 minutes to get in this morning, and that’s only because I got a dream run up until Millers road just before the Westgate Bridge. Then it was a car park all the way to Kings Way!

i take prinny hwy to work (near casino) and as soon as I past warrigul road it was already bumper to bumper. And i left home 9:10am cause i woke up late!2##2%$^#2@! I was in the service lanes all the way till burke rd. Else id still be stuck in the traffic. Usually pretty cruisy on the hwy in to work. Then I heard Burnley Tunnel was closed so that's why everyone was using the hwy.

That really does suck, I'm glad I work weird hours and don't ever deal with traffic (and my work is 5 min away from me).

I left for work at 6, heard the tunnels were closed so I've done **** all all morning because most of my work is in the city or other side of the city, so I've just left the factory in Clayton.
Hen traffics fucked I don't work so I don't care lol

They are saying it might not be open for the run home.

Yeop, last report says it very possible they will still be closed for peak hour this evening again! Citylink is refunding all tolls for today, but sif that makes any difference! Here you go, have your 20 bux back! Good thing I dropped the car off this morning, I just hope the trains aren’t stuffed tonight too because of this!
