FPV GT R-Spec vs Chrysler 300 SRT8 vs HSV ClubSport R8

It seems the heavens have smiled upon us, for today we have a rare moment in history: an article on a car enthusiast website that isn't about an economy car or a 4WD. Makes for a good read, though with the local cars both manual, a more skilful driver may have achieved better times.

The Chrysler achieved 5.6, the FPV the same and the HSV 6.0 seconds in the 0-100 sprint. I'll leave the verdict a surprise.

The red on the Gt makes it look ricer in my opinion, also i would of thought a supercharged v8 would run circles around the competion. Impressive car none the less.

I like the 25th anniversary hsv gts with the bigger vents in the bonnet and 20" forged wheels looks hot as. Would be hard to choose from that or the fpv gt r spec

seriously that new gt would have to be fords next flop! the red stripes look alright but the mirrors and most importantly the wheels **** me dead... horrid! Reminds me of random rare models in the 80s with painted wheels... looked shit then looks shit now :dizzy:

It doesn't help that Ford are using it as the 'hero' colour combo. You can get the R-spec in Vixen red, Winter White or Kinetic blue all with black highlights. The white looks mint IMO.

Wheels did the 4.6s time with an auto, plus some of them can drive.

Just answered my question those look better and different wheels maybe? Are they doing a limited run of these like hsv with the 25th anniversary gts? Only 125 of those

saw one of those gt-r specs on the road on saturday. looks like some mid 50's year old bloke has bought all the ebay sticker kits he can and fitted them to it. then painted the mirrors and wheels to match. looks soooo gay IMO

just because colours clash, dont mean they look good. i know eye candy gets away with it but ford should'nt....

EDIT: why are they using the R8 and not the GTS against the best of the other makes?

Yeah saw one also. The red on black looks awful. Seriously should be black on red imo. It certainly caught the eye but all for the wrong reasons.

Wouldn't take much to fix the colouring crisis, lower it on some nice silver mags. The colour wouldn't worry me if I had the $$ to buy one as it would be so easy to fix, other than that it seems like an awesome beast mechanically.

For anyone who doesn't know, the Ford's scheme is a direct copy of the Mustang Laguna Seca. Not that I disagree with your comments.

Rumours are heating up for LSA-powered HSVs, which may set a new benchmark again...

I hate to think what the Lsa will do to the retail prices of the gts, 100k plus commo maybe?

Slap the bigger supercharger on the Miami and go Holden hunting again... Certainly a good time for horsepower....

Its about time FPV did something that grabbed attention.

Damned if they do damned if they don't really.

While its a bit too lairy for me, it's easily toned down, plus there's other colours to choose from.

I just wish I could afford one :banghead:
