El hybrid to ef rocker gear info urgent

Postby EL Mont-ster » July 2nd, 2013, 4:50 pm

So today my ef head decided to spit 7 rocker arms, leaving me stranded at the side of the road... Anyway since I'm broke at the moment I was wondering if I could get away with using my el hybrid rocker assembly in my ef head? I'm pretty sure I'll have to use my el hybrid cam with it too... Just needing input to weather I can do that so I can get my car back on the road... I would leave my valves in the head and only change the rocker arm assembly and the cam over, would this work? Thanks in advance!

Yeah as long as you use the hybrid cam

So hybrid cam and rocker gear and it should work? Because I have a hybrid head at home doing nothing...

As long as the cam and rocker gear are of the same ratio it will work.
Ie: hybrid and au are 1.7 to 1
E series are 2.0 to 1
So cams must match rocker gear as they bolt up the same on the head

Check the lifter on the valve it is only ment to be 1mm off centre when mixing rockers and heads.
I put a e series cam and gear on a au head and it breaks rockers and is 2mm off centre.

I just got this head machined and fitted 5 days ago, I cannot afford to do that again...

Yeah I might just go to the wreckers and get the rocker gear off of a ef... Really want to keep my cam but I don't want this to happen again :? Thinking about going back to stock cam as I am sick of having an unreliable car, I know its never going to be super reliable I just want it to be as reliable as it can...
