G'day all,

I'm trying to figure out a temporary storage solution for my Ford. I've had a friend garage it for the past several months, but it now needs to be moved.

I did research a while back and found a place somewhere around Bayswater (from memory) which offered storage from about $35 per week including battery charging, though that price assumes a full year. You have to pay extra to access the car too.

(Before you ask, I still have no idea what the long term plan is. I've had someone offer to buy the car but he may not be serious, and if I can buy my own place as I am currently trying, it would no longer be an issue as I'd have a long-term place to keep it.)

If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Plenty of car storage places around, but it can get pretty pricey for anything decent - ie indoors, secure, restricted access etc. Most of the cheapies are unused or 2 bit warehouses and not particularly secure.

Gill may allow you to store it on his property for a nominal fee. It'd be parked on dirt or grass and you'd have to put a car cover over it to protect it from the elements.

For a bit of general info, the prices seem to be around $55-60 per week, though Autostorage.com.au at least offers discounts for longer periods of time if pre-paid - including the 3 months I'm looking at. Prices drop to sub-$40 in this case. Looks to be the go at this stage.

If I still don't have things sorted by that time, I might speak to Gill.

Decent pricing. Always best to check their security, general access etc, as well as your insurance policy.

If you purchase me a cheap chinese 4 post hoist you can store it at my place for a year
It'll be 1.8 or so metres up in the air, dry and secure.
And I get a free hoist after a year to do it all again
