Putting a turbo on your car and driving it around without a fucking tune.

YES, that is a fucking DICK HEAD manoeuvre.

DON'T DRIVE YOUR FUCKING CAR AROUND WHEN YOU HAVEN'T GOT IT TUNED!.

If you're dumb enough to fail to understand the way a turbo works then you shouldn't be fucking working on your car. If you're dumb enough to fail to understand how a turbo works and you bust your motor because you drive the car around on boost without a tune (FOR WHATEVER FUCKING REASON, especially considering that many, many knowlegeable people have previously continually told [unts NOT to drive their fucking cars around without a tune) then you should have your car confiscated and you should be banned from boosted until the end of time.

"But it's easy to change a motor and they are cheap and this motor was already busted anyway" I hear you say.

**** OFF.

**** OFF AND THEN GO **** OFF SOME MORE.

There is no way known to man that swapping a motor is easier than waiting until your car is tuned. No way known to fucking man. I know this, because I've swapped a million motors and I've tuned quite a few cars, and I've waited for however long it took to get my car in somewhere for a tune before giving it a thrashing.

So what if you think your motor is on its last legs - a) if you're fucking dumb enough to drive your car around without a tune then you're hardly knowledgeable enough to make a call on what condition the motor is in, and b) it's still a good opportunity to get a low boost tune and drive the car around to work out the teething problems that you will definitely have, before putting in a 'good' motor and winding up the boost.

I hope I've made this pretty clear.

removing timing and adjusting fuel in any way is better than doing sweet **** all and thinking you're a sick **** that has magic ring lands

That reminds me,I better hook my lc1 up,just to see if my 20psi tune done 2years ago on a fully stock motor with nothing but arp head studs and decomp plate is any good,its still got a stock au head and springs with 150km and bottom end with 230+kms on it.

Why does my car handle rough. I have cut kings ultra low springs, with second hand Monroe gt gas shocks.

I'm thinking of fitting a Top-loader, as there is NO other gearbox to hold the powah of my NA 4L, with BA injectors and cat back 3" zorst. Oh, and I defs need a button clutch. Can anyone tell me where to install the button?

My angle grinder has run out if sparks. Can someone tell me where to buy some more?

Ps I've done this, used the microtech from another car one mine and used the same injectors, pump and turbo from it as well. Got it all going and didn't hear any pinging and it seemed to run fine and due to me not knowing any better at the time I thought it was all sweet, so I took it for a few drives before I got it tuned and nek minnut massive hole in piston lesson learnt and ended up running decent times after doing it properly.

Always good to take the advice of people who have done it before, very frustrating when you give advice to someone and they ignore it.

Defiantly good advice to get a tune.

Needfordspeed, that's not so bad- same type of motor with the same setup you would reasonably think that it would be OK, and maybe just need a touch up rather than a full retune.

I did this in my fairlane aswell, same fuel system, injectors and turbo/motor/etc from another turbo falcon

One wot squirt busted the engine.

Boost probably came on too hard

Mad rant, really. Had a bloke ask me if the new bmw (i work there) handles as good as it does in forza or gran turismo.

Why can't c*#ts just pay some tow truck driver $100 (after already spending a few grand or more turbo'ing their car) and get it towed to the tuner? OR $50 and hire a trailer from 7/11, caltex, BP or shell?

OMG this makes me facepalm so bad.....I get so pissed, to be honest I am a chick and learning. I love cars but some of the posts even make me cringe at the stupidity. People must just do it for the so called "jokes" right? Otherwise I am seriously worried (even more) for this world.....

Something that just occured to me, is it awkward that I prefer to use this Ford forum for the purpose of reading build threads, asking questions and gaining knowledge, while I don't have 'boost' and don't really have it on the cards for my ED? To be honest the fact that this forum is specifically tailored around TURBO Falcon doesn't seem to resonate with me, I don't really notice it lol. I hope people don't mind that lol, otherwise I might be forced to create my own forum, "NA Falcon.net"
