Goodday ppl. Im here to seek reassurance and knowledge. I have had a engine re-built approx 55000km ago. Car is 240k km and engine is 55k new with head work done higher flow turbo (same turbo different internals) & forged pistons conrods.
Problem... i seem to be using oil. Refilling 1.5L each month. No leaks im sure of, no puddles/patched on the ground. Im using 15w40. Will go for a 10w40 next maybe with nulon.
2nd problem... car sometimes stop starts wgen in boost. Turbo juddering (on then off) while giving it a hit med to high acceleration upward. Sometimes even medium acceleration.
Im taking it into shop to get susp. Done.. well looks like i have other plans now. Akways when i want to improve things my luck runs out and im 1 step forward 3 steps back. This car is becoming a joke to be honest.
Appreciate the feedback, cheers

Was it tuned to suit the new higher flow turbo? Sounds like a bad tune, detonation or lack of fuel causing the shuddering.
Who tuned it if so?

I think your right. I havnt able to give it a tune since run in tune. Its still on a run in tune since 0km, envy dyno closed down and didnt notify me to tune it before they closed. So now up for another 1200 for a poxy tune. Overpriced much. So that reply makes good sense. Thanks.
Maybe tge oil usage might have simething to do with tune. At least i hope so, preying.

If it's using oil there is no turned back.
Does it chew fuel? "Run in" tunes (eg: overly stupid rich tunes that tuners do to "help" your new engine) are usually stupid rich, which if not retuned within an amount of time washes the bores.
Are all the breathers setup as per factory?

Cheers fellas. Taking ute in today to refill with new oil. Test for 500km if using an evident amount of oil the guys at superior motors will go from there. Worst comes to worse. Maybe a sleeve job. Or bore & hone again. Might mean its a bigger capacity engine with bigger pistons. But I would rather not spend anymore ridiculous $$. With all the $ ive spent on it. It could have been running 500fwkw by now. Which has been the ultimate goal.

Done a test and have 20-25% leakage. Refilled the engine with new full synthetic oil. Now going to run the car for 500km then see if or how much it depletes.
@avanti to be honest thats exactly what it feels like. 2nd gear give it a squirt and it will either rockit off into the distance or just completely cut all power mid revs 3k-4.5k rmp rang. This happens 20-30% of the time.

				Sounds like boost cut...
When it was rebuilt what parts were used? How was it run in?
Have you fitted a catch can?

You wouldnt beleive it, but a simple total fuel cleaner bottle from caltex and 60L of fuel fixed the problem may have been clogged up injectors.
Taking the ute in to be tuned this week. Looking forward to it running the best it ever has will post my results at some stage. Thanks for the information fellas.
It is using oil still. 1/2 a litre every 1000ks :-/

How is the breather setup done? Do you have catch cans or anything or is it all as per factory?
